I feel like the least known version of Midnighter is Flashpoint Midnighter. I dunno, I never heard anyone mentioned him except me. (I am obsessed with him). I would only hear people mention Daylighter, Daybreaker, Samurai Midnighter, Future State Midnighter, New 52 Midnighter, Nightshade, etc etc in other platforms.

Here he is btw. He is the only(?) version of Midnighter so far that has no fight computer or any superhuman abilities. Just a human. Also, he is another version of Midnighter to actually have 'Lucas Trent' as his real name. (The first one was Midnighter from The Wild Storm 2017)

Oh and Apollo is dead in that timeline btw because DC hates him. And for some reason, 90% of the time he dies in elseworlds. My guy also never got a chance to be Apollo, he was just Andrew before he died. Screw you DC.

few things:

I'm a minor—so no outright NSFW/smut. However, know that M is very violent and very lenient with killing (murderhusbands)

i'm fine with shipping, primarily midpollo (although other ships, including OCs, are welcome) -> just ask me ooc through the ask box, dms, discord, tags, or whatever.

he is gay. specifically gay for apollo but i digress. he won't have any romantic arcs with women.

my M is in his late 30s; he doesn't know his exact age, but he is physically in his prime and mentally around barbecue dad age (whatever that may be)

Lucas Trent aka Midnighter

Some information about him:

Originally created from Wildstorm comics before they got merged into DC.

Was / is apart of the group called the Authority and Stormwatch Zero.

Is quite similar to Batman apart from the fact that he kills people.

Married to his teammate Apollo.

Known as the Nights Bringer of War.

Met Nightwing.

Has the ability to predict the moves of his opponents in his head before the battle even starts. However he was unable to predict Jokers movements due to his insane and unpredictable mindset.

Has enhanced tactical senses, telescopic vision and enhanced hearing.

Adopted Jenny Quantum.

Headcanons

Whenever someone younger than him does something he feels is insulting he goes "Whats wrong with this generation".

He wears noise counselling headphones under-his suit.

His favourite anime villain is Itachi Uchiha. (Naruto) he would say something like "he just gets me" while watching his scenes.

He sometimes goes to Apollo and just stares at him intensely and before Apollo can say anything to him he goes "I see .." and then runs away.

Whumptober #14

Day 14 - Midnighter and Apollo - Body Bag

Midnighter watched them zip up the body bag.

He stared at it. It was so small.

One of the officers on the scene glanced at him nervously, but did not try to get him to leave. Midnighter had already refused to leave the scene until the little body was removed. He wanted to make sure they treated him correctly.

The bag stuck up a little where the boy’s feet were. Midnighter could almost see the light-up sneakers flashing as the boy ran for his life. His mind, so advanced, reconstructed that little boy piece by piece, starting with the light-up sneakers, moving up to the red shorts, and finally to the Superman T-shirt. Bright green eyes, tear-filled. A baseball cap with a youth league logo on it. 

In Midnighter’s hands, he held the boy’s Superman doll. He’d refused to turn it over to the authorities. He would return it to the boy’s family himself once they had an identity.

He should’ve known there was a bomb in the bank. He should’ve known the boy wasn’t safe just because he was in the lobby. He should’ve taken him somewhere else, outside gunfire be damned.

There were a lot more bodies to pack up, but they were the bodies of murderers. Men who didn’t care if a child was collateral so long as they got their easy payday. Midnighter had all but threatened the cops to take care of the boy first.

He should be relieved it was just one casualty, considering how many people were in the bank when the gang robbery started. But one casualty was too high, especially when it was someone so small.

“Benji!”

It was a woman outside the bank, her sudden wail telling Midnighter everything he needed to know; the boy had been identified.

He knelt beside the body bag, eyeing it critically. No blood on it. He nodded to himself and got up, clutching the doll as he walked out of the bank.

“Benji!” The woman was still yelling the name over and over as an officer held her back, trying to comfort her. 

“Please, our son,” a man with her was saying to the officer, his eyes wide and terrified. “He was with my sister. She was taken to the hospital after the explosion. She doesn’t know where he is.”

Midnighter stepped up to them. As soon as the man’s eyes landed on the doll in Midnighter’s hands, he dropped to his knees, put his face in his hands, and sobbed.

“Oh,” the woman whispered, reaching shakily for the doll. “Oh, no. No. Benji. My baby.”

Midnighter passed her the doll. He didn’t apologize for failing; it would only make the pain worse. 

“I made sure they took good care of him,” he said instead, his voice serious. 

She held the doll to her chest, reaching out to grip the sobbing man’s shoulder. She nodded mechanically, her eyes glazing over.

He left the couple, yanking his mask off. He didn’t deserve to walk around like some hero. He wasn’t Superman. If he was, the child would probably still be alive. 

He felt a gust of air and a sudden warmth at his side. Apollo took his hand, squeezing it tightly.

“When you’re ready to talk about it, I’m ready to listen,” he said. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there.”

He’d been taking care of another emergency. It was Midnighter’s responsibility to take care of the people in the bank. His failure, and his alone.

“I want to be away from here,” Midnighter said numbly.

Apollo caught him under the arms and lifted him into the air. The wind whipped Midnighter’s face and he closed his eyes, letting the wind roar in his ears as Apollo picked up speed.

But none of it was enough to wipe the image of that little body bag from his mind.
