So DCM is a comedy festival the runs 24 hours for 3 days over the course of a weekend. It culminates every night at a party space where all the performers, party. The party space opens up to a patio right with a view of the Empire State Building. It’s wild.
DCM is moving to Los Angeles next year and if you’ve never been, let me tell you that DCM in New York is going to be a tough act to follow.
I had the extreme luck of doing a mash-up show with Catherine Mudon (on right), a few months ago in LA. I didn’t know her then. We got to talking after our show and she had offered her place up for DCM weekend. So kind.
Catherine Mudon and Ken Beck are both UCB alums and house performers. They do a ton of amazing stuff, be sure to look them up.
This us after Catherine cooked us up an awesome breakfast of sunny side up eggs and bacon. I needed it - I was so dang hungover from partying the night before.
Catherine & Ken, you were amazing hosts. All love.
Will Choi, creator of the insanely popular Asian AF show. He was one of the first few LA people I ran into after my red-eye into NY. We got our festival wristbands together and immediately crashed on a couch.
Keiko Agena noticed that we were sitting exactly alike and snapped this photo. Great minds think alike.
Taken at the UCB NY Training Center. (6/28). Photo credit to Keiko Agena.
75+ shows , 3 days later #DCM20 is in the books. The last one in New York. It was here I finally met my biggest inspiration Amy Poehler and it wasn't a "dont meet your heros" moment at all. She signed my UCB shirt, was the nicest person & the next day she gave me a cookie it was amazing. I also had my favorite teacher , performer & huge inspiration @mollyteeee sign right next to her! I hope the marathon comes back for maybe the 25th year or something. but if it is truly gone to the west forever , the last one in New York was filled with amazing moments, lack of sleep, bunch of sweat , and great shows. See ya next year in L.A.!
Josh & Tamra (@thejoshandtamrashow) are puppet improv pioneers and legends. They’re returning to @ucbtny’s Del Close Marathon after several years away and you should see their awesome show! #DCM20 (Galapagos is up at the same time but seriously go see Josh & Tamra.) (at All Stars Project, Inc.)
I took @williebhines’ advice and now I’m performing with him, Tara McDonough, and a bunch of fun folks tonight at 7:30pm @magnettheater. #DCM20 (at Magnet Theater)
hey if anyone has been to DCM (del close marathon) before and wouldn’t mind answering some questions about it could you please like this or message me thank youuu
