his  brow  knits  in  thought.  the  wanderer  extends  a  hand  (  slowly,  slowly  )  and  mirrors  the  gesture  —  patting  her  once,  twice,  three  times  atop  the  head.  it's  a  bit  AWKWARD,  but  he's  making  a  genuine  effort  to  reward  the  CONSIDERATION.
