Home is weird...
I just came back home last night...gosh it's really weird to be here.
I thought I'd be able to go back to normal and not have too bad of withdrawals, but as soon as I set foot in my room I started crying. I saw all the Disney stuff in my room and just lost it. Just knowing that all my friends are on the other side of the country and there's nothing I can do about it to see them in person any time soon is the hardest part. Seeing pictures on tumblr and knowing I don't have access to that every day is just strange. I catch myself referring to Florida as "home" around here now when I talk to my friends.
However, it's SO nice to see my friends back here in California. My bed is so comfortable and knowing that I don't have to worry about taking buses or working 8 hours every day is just really nice.
One thing I realized though is just how much STUFF I have here. I really don't need half of this junk that I thought I needed before I moved for the DCP. Gonna definitely have to do some massive gutting and cleaning this summer!
Not having a very good day today. At least I get to look forward to the DCP presentation at 5pm, whoops it's almost 430, I should probably start heading over there.
Some Philosophy...
If there is one thing that Europe has taught me is this. Sometimes we need to excavate the ruins of our past and hold on to them as reminders of our previous ideas and plans. However, it is important to keep on rebuilding and expanding on the City of Life, and not harp on the relics of years, weeks, or even days ago. The true lesson of Europe is that we can have both within our lives, the heritage and the culture of two different parts of our lives that defines us.
