Disney College Program part 2 ❤️✨
yes, i know everyone said transitioning back to your “real” or “old” life after the dcp would be rough, but dang people! i did not know it would be *this* hard.
it’s wednesday night and i’ve been back since friday afternoon and i can not quite adjust.
i’m not unhappy. it’s not that. i love my house and my yard and looking at kansas and my hippie town and my people and my dogs and all the things i was really missing.
and it is weird to not know i could be inside a park within the hour if i wanted, disney or universal. that’s not fun. i miss my roommates and my friends a lot and wish it were as easy to see them as it was. i can’t imagine how long it will be until i see any of them again (september?). but i’m not sad to be gone. it was the best time ever but i knew from the first thoughts of it that it would be temporary. it’s time to be home and i’m glad about it.
but now - i don’t even know what i’m doing. i don’t mean future plans, i mean on a day to day basis. i don’t have a routine anymore and there are few things i want less than to go back to how things were before but that means i have to make up a new one and i haven’t gotten that figured out yet. it’s making me a little crazy.
all that time away changed me. of course it did. not in big ways so much. i’m pretty grown and decided in my ways. but in the little details about so many things have shifted. i can’t even process what they are all yet but i like them and don’t want to give them up.
that part is making for some bumpy re-entries with some people in my life, too. i know we’ll work it out but we have to readjust and shuffle around a bit to figure out how we fit together now.
so it’s not bad, but it’s uncomfortable and weird.
and i had no idea.
how long does this usually last?
Yesterday I had a really great day hanging out with a friend I've known from Facebook since before we got to Florida, but I hadn't actually spent any time with since we've been here. It was so super fun. We did nothing but meet characters. And score a walk up for lunch at Be Our Guest. One thing we talked about was vlogging and blogging since we've been here. Neither of us have been very good at it. It's hard. If we're not working, we're trying to get the most out of the advantages we get while we're working here....
It was getting close to 3 o'clock and I was thinking of finding a spot for the Festival of Fantasy parade, so I headed towards Main Street. This new area of the hub is amazing beautiful and I was so pleasantly surprised! The construction walls were so unpleasant, and it seemed like they had been up forever. I wasn't sure it could be worth it - but it so is. If you're coming, make sure to plan in some time to enjoy them. When I passed by Casey's the piano player was out so I stopped to listen for a...
With less than 2 months left on my program (people were not kidding about the time flying!!), I've created a new list to keep in my Google Keep with the most important things still left on my bucket list. Here they are: + Take a park tour. + Spend an entire day meeting characters. + Kilamanjaro Safri photo day. + Universal photo day. + Visit a beach! + Play mini golf. + Visit a water park. + Orlando Museum of Art. + 4 parks in 1 day. + Watch a movie outside at a resort. + Watch a movie at...
Wed Feb 25 It was a day off! Monica and I had plans for the daytime at the Magic Kingdom. I was almost made it to the park when I realized I didn't have my cast id, which meant I couldn't park for free, so I had to turn around and go back for it. Ugh! Eventually I made it into the park. I thought I'd stop into Starbucks but when I saw this line, I changed my mind. Monica was having breakfast at Sleepy Hollow so I headed there to meet her. When it was time we headed to...
Tuesday Feb 24 The Grid opened this morning! What's The Grid? It's the brand new convenience store they built inside my apartment complex. Very nice. There was a grand opening, with the boss and everything, so 2 of my roommates and I went to check it out. I was all dressed up because I had class to go to. Exploring Guest Service was very fun that day, as always. After I came home, ate some lunch, got ready for work and headed out to make the magic from 3:30 to 10:15. It was a long day, but not a bad...
