If you sign up, you will receive a random 5-song mixtape of ~Darklina vibes~ songs compiled by other participants. You can use any of these as inspiration for a fanwork, to be posted anytime between February 10th–February 18th
Rules and FAQ:
Due date: You can post all of Valentine's week, from February 10th–18th. The 18th will be the last opportunity to add to the ao3 collection, though!
Yes: You can join the event if you did not submit any songs. You can join any time!
No: You cannot submit more than 5 songs
Yes: Your creation can be any type of fanwork, be it a moodboard, artwork, comic, print media, fanfic, video edits, gifs, the works.
Yes: You can request additional songs if you've made fanworks for all 5 from your original mixtape. If you would like to change the songs from your original mixtape, you have 3 options available:
❤️ The one that got away: You can pick a new letter and swap out ONE song from your current playlist
❤️ OT5: You can get a completely new mixtape with FIVE new songs, but you cannot change your original letters
❤️ Matchmaker: You can go to the Mod Matchmakers and get an Arranged Playlist
But you can use any one of these options only once!
Yes: You can make 1 fanwork that is inspired by all 5 songs—just make sure you tag all 5 people who submitted those songs
No: Your fanwork does not HAVE to include all 5 songs. You also do not have to create something for all 5 songs. You can pick and choose which song (or songs) speak to you
Yes: If you have a current WIP that can be repurposed to fit this event, go for it!
Yes: You can share snippets on the server or with others if you want! No need for secrecy
Yes: If you're inspired to create a multi-chapter fic, you can start posting the first chapter(s) and then continue working on later chapters after the event
Yes: You can participate even if you're not part of the Darklina server
Mostly: You can make anything you want for the prompted song. However, we DO recommend using the prompts suggested along with the song (if provided), let’s make it more of a challenge!
Tags: We are going to be using the #DDSValentinesMixtape on Tumblr and other platforms and encourage you to use it when posting to the Ao3 collection as well!
Tags: If the person who suggested the song wants to be tagged in your creation, we will let you know when the mixtapes goes live. Please remember to gift and/or tag the song prompter with your completed work. There was something about the song that whispered or even shouted Darklina to them and they’d love to see what you made of the song yourself!
Yes: We will be creating a playlist of ALL the songs submitted, so you can listen to this year's Darklina server submissions altogether!
