Deacon walked down the hall of Kyra's house in Sanctuary in the early hour of the morning, making sure everything was set for his plan. He had to wake Kyra up early since they had another job to do for the railroad. Last time though was a living nightmare. He should've listened to Codsworth, seeing as the butler robot had known her before the war and had undoubtly been on the receiving end of her wrath. If he was a religious man, he would of told everyone that he did not encounter a woman that morning, but instead he was faced to face with a demon who wanted nothing more than the blood from the one who woke her. He understood why Danse woke her up wearing his power armor, why MacCready felt safer waking her from the door or why Nick would send in Dogmeat. Kyra loved being woken up by Dogmeat. Never chased him out of the room with threats of death. That was why he thought everyone else was exaggerating when they told him not to wake her.
A chill ran down his spine as he remembered. The look of murder in her eyes as she ran at him and tackled him to the ground and demanded in what he swore was the voice of a demon why did he wake her at 6 in the fucking morning. Deacon had followed Kyra for sometime before she found her way to the railroad. He knew she was strong smart and capable of doing the dirty work that needed to get done, but this was a new side to her. After the whole ordeal, he ask Codsworth how had he managed before. "Why sir, I wake mum up with waffles. They have always been her favorite food,". Deacon wasn't sure if he should believe Codsworth or not. Seriously, food? That was a weird truce to Deacon but if it meant he'd live another day, he'd try it. Codsworth had showed him a few times on how to make waffles but at 6 in the morning that required way more energy than he had. So instead, he found a waffle costume. Codsworth never said the waffle had to be edible right.
Codsworth say Deacon going towards Kyra's bedroom. "Sir, I wouldn't suggest doing that if I were you,"
"Don't worry Coddsy, I'm a professional," Deacon responded with a huge grin and walked into the bedroom.
Kyra was sprawled out of the bed sleeping soundly when Deacon gently shook her awake. Kyra, being disturbed from such a peaceful slumber, turned to send the offending person through the window, but in her half asleep state she saw a HUGE waffle and thought it was a gift from above. Deacon took a deep breathe thinking he had succeeded when Kyra suddenly grabbed him, pulled him closer and bit him right on the ribcage. He yelped in surprise.
"What the hell, waffles don't scream," Kyra noted is a confused voice.
"That's because I'm not really a waffle boss," Deacon said shakily. "Seriously though, I think you took some hide with you. No offense Boss but could you not bite me anymore. I've grown quite attached to my skin," Deacon added
Kyra blinked a few time before speaking.
"DEACON YOU BASTARD. HOW DARE YOU DRESS UP AS A WAFFLE INSTEAD OF BRING ME ONE YOU LAZY ASSHOLE!! TRUST ME YOU WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MISSING SKIN. I'LL PERSONALLY TAKE YOU TO SHAKE SATAN'S HAND!!!" Kyra seethed at him.
Deacon ran out of the house and down the street with Kyra right at his heels screaming at him the whole time.
