Hey guys! How's it going? 🙂. . Had a rough one again today, glad it's over! 😄. . Finally it's Friday and the weekend can start! Gonna be a short weekend for me because I'm traveling this Sunday, so I want to make the most of it with this Deanston 12yo 😉🥃. . Here is my review: . Nose: Light, sweet cinnamon, zesty orange marmalade. Barley, shortbread and ginger and raisins. . Palate: Soft, vanilla and caramel cream, shortbread and a bit nutty. Caramelized apples. . Finish: Soft, quite abrupt, fudge and marzipan and a hint of cinnamon. . Color: almond. . What do you guys think? Is this a weekend worthy dram? 😊 I say hell yeah! 😉. . Cheers guys and have a great weekend! 🥃✨🥃. . #scottishwhisky #whisky #deanston #deanstonwhisky #deanston12 #dailydram #highlandscotch #scotch #firewaterxo #scotchwhisky #whiskyporn #whiskygram #whiskybar # drinks #scotland #friday #fridayvibes #tgif #weekend #weekendvibes #spirits #january #dryjanuarymyass #whiskyparty #cheers #romania #cluj #scotchlover #scotchporn #scotchbar (at Cluj-Napoca) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7_dGBrnvQI/?igshid=ebxswdcfw48u

Round 24
A solid round with a lot of variety. Although two of the scotches proved to be a little divisive, we’re quickly discovering that Deanston produces some tasty bottles of Scotch. So far, we have yet to be disappointed by the distillery either in the club or through our own personal collections.
Date: 3/2/2019
Bottles:
Deanston 2008 Brandy Finish
Auchentoshan 21
The Arran Malt Smuggler Series - Volume 3
Deanston 2008 Brandy Finish
This is a nice and wild one. Heady on the first sip but that mellows out a bit after sitting in the glass for a few minutes. Sweet like maple syrup, followed by strong oaky notes. Then the brandy punches through. If you’re a bourbon drinker, or want to surprise a bourbon drinker, this one’s a good choice.
Auchentoshan 21
We didn’t have kind words for this one. A triple-distilled whisky is gonna lose all its character from the grain, leaving only neutral spirit and the barrel to do its job. Second-use barrels don’t really do a good job, that’s why you start with a heartier spirit than this. Boring. Nothing going on here. Whispers of whisky. You buy this for the “21″ on the front, not for the quality. Hard pass.
The Arran Malt Smugglers Series - Volume 3
We reviewed Volume 1 before, but missed Volume 2. Volume 3 was a doozy. You really gotta wrestle with this one. Half the club hated it, half the club loved it. A mid-50′s ABV will give you something to chew on. Earthy, a bit grassy. A little sweet. Like a dense geological record of Scotch getting more complex by the sip.
Cheers!
Well this sure is a sneaky little gem • Nine year Bordeaux red wine cask matured Deanston, clocking in at 58.7% this one packs a serious punch • Haven’t had much Deanston but can say, if you can find this one, it’s worth snagging to try out • #deanston https://www.instagram.com/p/BuOyq7OA1lf/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=17szy51n0681i
