Dear Sanha

Ok so i'm doing this on my phone so im sorry in advance for all the typos. so this is gonna be similar to the one i did for jinwoo's birthday so bear with me okay? ok, so today is the light in all of our lives birthday yoon sanha. i am really bad with words so idk how this is gonna turn out lol. anyway. sanha. you're officially 17. idk how to handle this tbh. you're still the smol child dancing on the i-teen stage to me sometimes and now that you're 17... it's a little shocking ngl. i know that every year after this one, i'm gonna say the same things, but wow.... you're really grown up. the ironic thing is that you're no were near done growing up. i can't wait to see how much of an amazing person you're going to turn out to be the older you become. i'm sitting here typing this up just thinking about how mature you've become and how much you've grown and i can't be more proud of you and i know that tomorrow i'm gonna say the same thing and that's because everyday you're growing and maturing and are more experienced than you were the day before and for me, knowing that makes me so proud of you every second of every day. you're still young and i want you to remember something. i know you'll never read this but i'm gonna say it anyway. i never want you to think that you have to act a certain way just because you're an idol. ever. you should always be yourself no matter what. we - arohas - want to see your true self and I know that this isn't really a problem in your life right now, and maybe it will never be one, but if you ever start feeling like you need to act a certain way for us to love too, throw those thoughts away. we love you. we love our dorky fun savage smol yet tol son being his true self more than anything else in the world Also!! this is an important one...maybe THE most important one. your health. your physical and metal well being. that's should always be your number one, always. your health is the most important thing to us. yes, we love seeing you on stage is great and it gives us all so much joy, but if you're sick it does the opposite thing. it makes us worry. it makes us want to make sure that you're not about to faint instead of enjoy the performance. it makes us want to tell you to go home and sleep for the rest of the day. you're always telling us to take care of ourselves, but the best way to lead is by example. so here's an idea, if you want us to really take care of ourselves, you have to show us what that looks like. thank you for always worrying about us, but worry about yourselves and take care of yourselves when you need it. stay home and sleep the whole day. eat all the food you want. get the proper amount of sleep every night and consistently too. make sure to not get injured, but if you do get injured, Take Care If Yourself PROPERLY. make sure that before you come back, you're completely healed. just.... my wish for you is that you're always happy and healthy. if i could wish for anything for you, it would be those two things, and i think that following these steps can help lead you closer to those goals. we love you for you. we love you're bright sassy savage personality and we love seeing you do aegyo. we love watching you laugh and enjoy yourself with your hyungs. we love just seeing you be yourself in any and every circumstance because that's who we know and love and fell in love with. never forget that. we love seeing you healthy and running around and properly fed and just- we all love seeing you be yourself and you don't understand what that means to me. every time i see a picture of you or i watch a video of you doing basically anything, it makes me smile. seeing your face alone makes my day 1000 times better. you have this wonderful affect on people that i can't describe, but whenever i see anything related to you, i get this warm fuzzy feeling in my chest that just keeps growing and never stops. i don't know how to explain this feeling really because i suck at english, but even just writing this makes me feel like this. i think what i would call this is happiness tbh. every time i see you i just feel happier. it doesn't matter what mood i was originally in, i could have been crying or already the happiest i've ever been, seeing you will make me happy. i wanted to say thank you for that. your personality is just so happy and pure that it makes arohas just... love you more than the last time we saw you when we thought that wasn't possible. we're always falling more and more in love with you and your smile and your laugh and everything about you every single second that we're thinking you. thank you for becoming the light of my life thank you for giving me hope that i can accomplish my dreams just like you did thank you for being your cute self thank you for being born thank you for learning how to play the guitar thank you for becoming a trainee at fantagio at such a young age thank you for staying a trainee at fantagio thank you for going thru the grueling i-teen stages and i'm sorry for the friends you most likely lost because of that thank you for becoming part of astro thank you for planing to debut with astro thank you for debuting and giving me one of the most special memories from your showcase thank you for going thru all the questionable clothing styles you went thru thank you for debuting with braces on thank you for letting us watch you grow up into the person you are today thank you in advance for everything you're going to do for us in the future thank you for being a part of my life that i can't live without thank you i love you i love you more than all the time that has passed since before the big bang i love you more than there have been things searched up on the internet since the beginning of the internet i love you more than there will be things searched up and uploaded to the internet for the rest of time i love you more than there is love and hate and all the other emotions in the world combined i love you more than i all these things combined i love you more than i'll ever be able to describe in words or in person i love you than you for becoming a part of my life that i would never want to live without happy birthday sanha 💜 i 💜 love 💜 you 💜

Dear Park Jinwoo

Dear Park Jinwoo,

I don’t know how I’m gonna explain this.... it’s like asking me to answer “what is the meaning of life?” 

Well, first off, happy birthday. I really can’t believe you’re 21 now. You could legally drink in the US now...  oh my god no I’m gonna stop right there.

Okay. So. You’re 21 now. I don’t know how I feel about this. You’re only four years older than my and I don’t know why that’s relevant but I said I wouldn't go back and delete anything so that’s staying there. 

I really can’t believe it’s your birthday. I remember around this time last year I still hadn't chosen a bias in Astro and when it was your birthday, I was just happy because..... I don’t know today is just a happy day for me. You hadn’t become my bias this time last year. I hadn’t realized that Astro is my UB group. I didn’t know all these things and I can definitely say that I’m happy about the choices I’ve mad when it comes to this wonderful group of yours

I wish I could tell you all these things in person. That would make things so much easier.... wait no it wouldn’t. If I ever got to meet you in person, I would probably break down crying. I wouldn’t even be able to get any words out. Like I’d open my mouth and then tears would just start falling down my face. I’m not even joking that’s, exactly what would happen.

So here’s the thing. I love you. Like... like a lot. Like more than I can ever explain to anyone. Everything that I do reminds me of Astro in general. Like completely coincidentally my phone is the same color as Vivid Plum, so whenever I look at it I think of them. I had a friend of mine draw me a picture of Jinwoo and it’s the cutest thing ever which is my wallpaper right not and has been since December. And like.... they’re just always on my mind, either right up front and center or kinda just chililn in the back of my head.

And Jinwoo means so much to me. All I ever want for him is to be happy and healthy and enjoying life and just like.... I want him to enjoy life to the max. I want him to be well rested and eating well and getting enough sleep. I want him to be relaxed and loved.

I mean, I love hearing his rap voice in songs. I love watching him dance on stage. I love seeing more of him, but I also want him to be relaxed. I want him to be eating properly and spending just quality time with his members. And maybe he already does all of this, and I would be really happy.

This letter is really such a bad idea. Me trying to explain this isn’t working is it...

Dear Astro

So this is the letter I wrote to Binnie on his birthday. I don’t know why I’m posting it so late but better late than never right?

Dear Moonbin,

Happy birthday!!

It’s your birthday in Korea today, and I can’t express how happy that makes me. To know that you’re a whole year older and smarter and mature and just the fact that you’re blossoming into such an amazing person feels like i’ve received a gift today, if i’m being completely honest.

This is also your first year as an adult. You’re beginning the long road that is adulthood and i know that you’re going to do perfectly fine. You have some of the greatests hyungs i have ever seen; they’ll help you get through this transition, so don’t worry about it being an awkward thing. Awkwardness is almost always expected when you start something for the first time.

Also please don’t be afraid that we’ll stop loving you for any reason now that you’ve become an adult. All arohas around the world love you so much that there’s nothing, nothing, in the world that could change that.

I love the way you smile. Your smile is one of the reasons that i smile. Seeing you be happy and smiling makes me happier than almost anything else in the world. Seeing you be happy is a blessing that not even god has the power to bestow on us because it really does such wonderful things.

I love the way your eyes smile when you’re laughing or when you’re happy, because this means that you’re genuinely having a good time and enjoying yourself, which is all i want for you. I want you to have fun doing what you’re doing, no matter what it is. Seeing your little eye smiles make me happy because then i know that you’re truly enjoying yourself.

I love the presence you give off when you’re on stage, whether it’s singing or dancing or just standing on stage. I’m gonna break this into parts because there’s a lot i want to say here.

I love seeing you dance. It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re on stage or not, because i can see how much fun you’re having. I can see the look on your face and think, “I wonder what you feel when your dancing… i wonder what you think about while you’re dancing… i wonder how much do you really love dancing… will i ever find something that i’ll love even half as much as you do… “ i have these thoughts because i can’t even begin to imagine the joy you feel when you dance. The passion you have for it makes me want to try harder in whatever task i’m currently be doing, whether it’s my homework for school or a workout or just something as simple as cleaning my room. You make me wanna to it to my best ability. You inspire me because you’re so dedicated to your dancing and everything that it makes me wanna try harder.

Your singing amazes me so much, and i can’t really explain this one but i’m gonna try. Your voice to me is so distinct that i can pick it out from everyone else’s. The part that makes me feel like i won’t be able to explain this in a way that will make sense to you is that the fact that you practice so hard to hit that high note, to make sure that you can keep your voice steady, that it amazes me beyond words. Your voice is so stable and you sound just as good live, if not better, than your recordings. That’s how much i think of you and respect you. I mean, as such a young age, you’ve accomplished so much and your future is just so bright, and you’re just starting out. It hasn’t even been a year since your debut, but you’ve released three mini albums, gone on multiple variety and performance shows, gained an enormous amount of fans, both national and international, gone on an asia tour, gone to kcon LA, won the SMA Hallyu award, which no rookie has ever won before, and become the most caring, wonderful, hard working group of boys that i have ever seen.

Individually, you have come so far too. You went from going through the trainee process during the entirety of your teenage years. I don’t know what the process is or what you have to go through when you’re a trainee and i don’t know if i wanna know. If i did know, i think i would just get really sad from the rumors that i’ve heard about some companies and their trainee systems. Thinking that you went through a similar experience breaks my heart, to be honest. yOu had to learns how to deal with growing up as a kid away from your parents and your family. You had to stay up until who knows what hours just to learn some choreography or practicing the song you were being evaluated on the next day just to make sure you don’t end up being kicked out of the company; you went through all of that as a teenager.

I’m barely making it through high school right now, i don’t know how you managed to juggle both being a trainee and a middle/high school student. It doesn’t seem like it should be possible, but you did it somehow. You showed me that you’re never too young to start chasing your dream, and that if you really, really want it, then nothing can stop you. If you really want to achieve something, and you’re determined to do it, then you’ll be able to handle everything else around you. I feel inspired by you to try my hardest on school so that i won’t have any regrets when i apply to the colleges i want to go to.

I love how well you get along with your members. I think this is my favorite part of you because your members make you who you are almost and i think that you’ve made them that much of a better person than they already are.

With Sanha, you’ve always played with him and been such a good brother to him. I know that you look out for him because he’s your little brother and you want him to be the best person he can be. I know you complain about having to play with the baby, but you have so much fun with him and he has so much fun with you that it always makes me smile seeing the two of you having fun.

You and Minhyuk’s relationship to me is so strong i don’t think that there’s anything that can break it. You’ve both trained for so long that it’s insane how well you probably know each other. You two have such a good chemistry with each other that if someone told me that you were really brothers, i would believe it 100%. Thank you for caring for him like he really is your little brother.

Now the whole fandom knows how much you and Dongmin love each other. You’re so close and that might be because you’re the same grade in high school or something, i can’t explain why i think that you two are so close and I don’t really need to. Seeing you two together, having fun just being together and everything makes me so happy that i can’t really explain it in words.

With Jinwoo, i love the relaxed relationship not only you but the whole group has with him. I’m glad that you feel close enough with him that you can make fun of him and make jokes about his height and everything but when it really counts you respect him and i think that’s the best kind of relationship you can have with your leader and i’m thankful that you have such a good relationship with Jinwoo

With Myungjun, i’m really happy how playful you are with him. I’m glad that you can enjoy being yourself around him, but you still show him the same respect you would to someone older than you. You two really get along so well and that makes me really happy too. Knowing that you have an older brother that you can have fun with is really comforting and i love how close you are with him.

I love how close you are with all the members and i can’t describe it in words because there are no words to describe you in words in any language because you break all the definitions for what an angel is; for what a kind person is; for what a caring person is; for what a hard working person is; for what it means to be a good person. You break them all because your very existence is the definition of these words.

All i’m trying to say Binnie, is that I love you so much and on every level and Everything about you. I want you to have the greatest first year of adulthood and a great year just in general. I want you to have an amazing rest of your life aND that whatever you decide to do, that you’re happy doing it. If i had one wish for you, it would be that you stay healthy this year, that you don’t get injured or sick; that you’re happy doing what you love; that you’re well rested; that you know how loved you are; that everyone is proud of you; that you’re proud of yourself; that you’re ultimately happy with your life and that you’re more than satisfied with it.

I wish that you love yourself as much as we love you, because you deserve so much more love than you’re receiving right now. The whole world could love you and it still wouldn’t be enough love. You deserve nothing but happiness and good things in your life and I don’t know how I’m gonna explain to you how much love you deserve other than saying that the whole universe could be filled with people who would love you and you’d still deserve so much more.

Dear Astro

So I actually wrote this a while back, but I’m deciding to post it anyway. This is gonna be the first letter of my Dear Astro series that I’m gonna be posting on here. The series are my feelings and thoughts that I have about Astro put in the form of a letter. There’s no real reasoning as to why i decided to do this other than “I wanted to,” in case you were wondering. 

17 January 2017 Dear Astro,

I know that you're most likely never gonna read this, and that I'm most likely never gonna meet you, but I still think it's important to say this because I truly do feel like this needs to be said, more for me than anyone else.

I love you.

You were the first group I got into by myself and I can't believe how lucky I am to have had that chance. I truly feel blessed to have been born during the same time period as you. Your smiles make me think that nothing bad can happen as long as you're smiling and your tears make me feel like the world is ending. Your happiness is my happiness. Your sadness is my sadness. I can honestly say that I don't feel this way towards a group as strongly as I do with you

You never cease to amaze me either. Whether it's with how talented you are to how caring and sweet your personalities are, I'm always impressed beyond belief. Your stages always make me smile like the biggest dork because they make me so happy. I've been with you since debut and I can honestly say that seeing you become the group you are now and how far you've come is probably the most rewarding thing in the world. Seeing you become more confident in yourselves and seeing you gain more love over this past year has been one of the greatest things to have ever happened to me and I can't thank you enough for that.

I also want to say thank you.

Thank you Myungjun, for always being the happy virus of the group, regardless of how you're feeling. You always try and make the boys smile and laugh and I don't think you know how much that means to them and to us Arohas. Thank you for putting in all the hard work that you do to make sure that you don't let the fans down, but know that you could never let us down. Thank you for becoming part of Astro and becoming part of my life whether or not you know that you're apart of it. I can never thank you enough for that.

Thank you Jinwoo, for being the greatest leader in the world. I know that it's hard, being a leader, but you're doing such an amazing job. Please never lose faith in yourself because there's no need to. The boys may joke around with you a lot and make fun of you, but they're follow you anywhere. Thank you for caring about the boys and always thinking about the good of the team. Thank you for taking on the hard task of being the leader. Thank you for becoming part of Astro and making my life that much better.

Thank you Dongmin, for taking on the hard responsibilities of being the visual of the group. I know that getting all of this attention on you solely isn't what you want, but the members are all happy for you and just wish that you're well rested and happy. Thank you for taking care of the boys, making sure that us Arohas are taking good care of ourselves. Thank you for becoming more confident in yourself as the eras go by. Thank you for everything you've done. Thank you for changing my life for the better.

Thank you Moon Bin, for training for so long; for giving up part of your childhood to become a trainee; for seeing good friends of yours leave the company and still staying regardless. Thank you for always trying your hardest and for being yourself. Please never feel like you have to act a certain way because we love you for who you are, and we fell in love with who you are right now. Thank you for being such a good older brother to the babies and a good younger brother to your older brothers. Thank you Binnie.

Thank you Minhyuk, for always being yourself regardless of what you're doing. You're quieter than the other members, but what you say is always meaningful. Thank you for working so hard during your trainee years in order to debut with this group. Thank you for having such a love of dance that is always evident whenever you start to dance. Remember to be confident in everything you do because you never seem to surprise us. Thank you for going through such a long journey to become part of Astro.

Thank you Sanha, for being the cutie you are. Thank you for undertaking the toughest task of being an idol while you're still not fully grown. We're all so impressed with how you've matured through just this year and we can't wait to see what happens in the future. Thank you for always being such a good younger brother to your older brothers. Thank you for becoming a trainee and an idol as such a young age. Please always remember that we'll support you always and that we love you will all our hearts. Thank you Sanha

Thank you Astro. Thank you a million times. Thank you for becoming Astro. Thank you for becoming such an amazing, talented, wonderful, happy group that was needed in the kpop scene. Thank you for spending hours upon hours practicing the choreography to your songs until you get it perfect, and then practicing for another couple hours anyway. Thank you for always putting your best selves out there. Thank you for being open and real with us and not hiding your true personalities from us. Thank you for always producing amazing music for us to listen to. Thank you for caring about Arohas as much as we care about you. Thank you for worrying about your health when we should be and are the ones worrying about your well being. Thank you for always being a family and for including us into your family.

Thank you for becoming Astro and showing me what real happiness and joy is.

I can never thank you enough, and this letter doesn't even begin to describe how grateful I am towards you and how much I love you. I acknowledge that you'll probably never read this, but I still feel better knowing that there is the slightest chance that this will get to you in some way. I really do love you with my entire being and so much more. I will never be able to fully explain how much I love you any in any other way but saying that I am the proudest Aroha and that I will be with you for the rest of my life.
