Dear Tumblr, today I'd like to present to you. Death leech Shadow.
I was gonna sand and refine this sculpt more but I wanted to finish something really badly and I wanted to paint. I think it came out fine in the end and the resin makes the eye especially googoo
Sculpted based on this design of a death leech Shadow the hedgehog by @galaxylover06 and this series of illustrations by @nova-rpv
tbh I don't know what a death leech is but I assume it's something to do with the shadow the hedgehog game? I started it on my birthday one year despite chat screaming desperately at me not to, but it was after I finished a playthrough of sa2 so I was heavily drunk and don't remember anything except that it controlled very strangely. I think I only played it for 15 minutes too. I'll get back to it someday.
Anyway now that this exists what should I do with it
this all is just really making it sound like Shadow started out as a Death Leech that got modified with hedgehog DNA
which makes more sense than the reverse considering the metamorphic nature of the Black Arms
if it wasn't for him constantly being called a hybrid/said to be half alien, this would also make it sound like he was just shaped into a hedgehog
also the failed attempts are so eerie
Expressive undead faces by Gary Harrod, from BECMI D&D supplement AC09: Creature Catalogue, TSR, 1986
Topi: "Topis are more agile than normal zombies. Before these creatures are animated, the corpses are shrunk until they are only 2 feet tall, giving them dark, wrinkled, leathery skin."
Mesmer: "This undead wraith-like creature lives on the ocean floor in a series of spiralling tunnels, constructed as a magically hypnotic pattern. The insatiably hungry mesmer waits at the centre of the pattern, dining on its victims."
Death Leech: "In its natural form, a death leech looks like a large flat, translucent amoeba that shimmers with a variety of pale colours. The death leech can polymorph itself to appear as any undead (of vampire strength or weaker) that has a physical form."
Shadow gets seriously wounded, but is still able to regenerate... as a death leech, that is. The rest of team dark thinks the situation is utterly hilarious.
Don't you ever think about just how weird Shadow's alien DNA could affect things? Like, if he had a kid, there's a 50/50 chance that it comes out as a death leech. Just sayin.
Drawing Shadow Everyday: day 14
Too tired to draw regular Shadow, it's baby hours, have a death leech shadow instead
