My favorite Sonic headcannon is that much like Gamma, the Flicky in Omega became self aware, but instead of freeing themself, they decided to power through the pain to become an immortal robot killing machine.

Sonic: Electric because of his speed

Tails: Flying/Steel

Knuckles: Fighting

Team Rose

Amy Rose: Fairy/Fighting. Fairy because she likes ice cream and a lot of Fairy-Type Pokémon are associated with sweets and desserts (Dachsbun, Swirlix, and Alcremie for example)

Cream: Normal

Big: Normal

Team Dark: Dark

Shadow: Dark because he looks like a Zoroark

Rouge: Dark/Flying

Omega: Dark/Steel. Omega isn't evil but he’s pretty aggressive as shown in his dialogue in Crossworlds

Team Chaotix

Vector: Water/Normal

Espio: Fighting/Dark. Dark because he's a ninja and Fighting because of his strong sense of justice, which is why the Swords of Justice are all Fighting-Types even though they have nothing to do with martial arts
