To prove to myself that i'm actually making the Zaneling i am talking about, here my compatriots, take all my Zaneling WIPs i have so far rahhhh!!!!!! You may see any of these finalized in your dash at any time, or never again! Oh well.

1- Zaneling but Zane steals a kiss after the only cutscene they share together (this started as normal but then changed to semirealism and I will later change back to my normal artstyle because it's a lot of effort):

3- Zaneling but Darling introduces Zane to what a cellphone is (i know you can't enter the Oldest House with modern technology don't think about it too hard)

6- Zaneling but I was going to make the chibis as normal artwork but lost the timing for Halloween :(

7- Zaneling but GET UNDERSWAPPED! Swap AU where Zane is the scientist and Darling is the Filmmaker. Or an AU where Ilkka and Matthew swap roles? Concepting this one still:

11- Zaneling but they are dads for a baby Alan Wake in the Dark Place, because CMON the generic kidfic potential is RIGHT THERE!!! Alan has Daddy Issues, Tom has a lot of metaphors for being Alan's Dad in Alan Wake 1, Darling was a bad parent to Dylan but maybe this time it can be different, it's perfect!! A fandom needs to have its tropey kidfic:

12- Zaneling but fanart of this fic! Twin Cameras by CryptidCabaret (NSFW). Once again about both of them as two halves of Alan. Go read it, you will understand the concept of this one real quick (it's at the start of the fic):

13- Zaneling but they ruin each other, also fic fanart, from Chapter 3 of Alphawave's Remedy No Nut Kinkvember 2025 (also NSFW, obviously). This one looks particularly stupidly funny as hell right now, i'm going to re-sketch this whole thing, i was having a particularly bad at drawing day:

15- Zaneling but I told myself "Hey, maybe i should draw them in this pose, it would be fun" and didn't even sketch something yet (note: i'm not into Formula 1, i just follow the tag because i have a deep fascination with the fanart the community makes):

16- Zaneling but look, ANOTHER idea about how if you grab Zane's looks and Darling's voice and put them in a blender you get one soggy writer man! But this one gets very autistic (i'm autistic), because it's imagining this manifested as fusions from other media. There's Alan as a Steven Universe fusion?? And a Dragon Ball fusion???? Man sometimes you just need to accept some of my ideas are just Random Bullshit Go done as warmup for work:

17- Zaneling having a three-way with Alan, because a ZaneWakeLing threesome would be a trippy as hell experience for all involved. This one i didn't even go that far because the reference pose was challenging as fuck:

18- And to finish, of course, Zaneling as Death Rally. I keep teasing this one. Plot outline is done, script for the first chapter is also done, i just want to finish my university semester before diving deep so i'm concept arting for now:
