So I don't expect much call on my unnecessary knowledge about French and British tailoring history, but I was quite happy to lend a hand to TRC Leiden in researching the history of French tailor Cumberland, which ended up merging with (among others) Jean Gabin's tailor Opelka. The Textile Research Centre of Leiden was looking into the story behind several garments made by Cumberland during its time merged with tailor F. Disslin: story at link.
