The krogan are my favorites, but really, even if they weren’t, I would still find New Tuchanka absolutely amazing.

They’re living with hope again and doing so many great things as a community:

-trying to raise their kids well (and asking for tips and help!)

-teaching themselves better ways to socialize and treat female krogan better

-working on very ingenious ways to improve the colony

-having fun with larping

It goes on and on, and proves to me that they’re smart and creative and just… I love them so much.

And sure, the writers always push the idea that all krogan are basically the same except that (1) squadmate who is your buddy and (1) poetic and romantic krogan who ‘should have been born another species’, making it so only (2) krogan are entirely valid. But it doesn’t work quite like that in MEA because New Tuchanka shows that all of them are unique and special, and that they can do wonderful things as a community.

The krogan are a bunch of dreamers and that makes me happy :)

The cutest thing about Liam is that he tries so hard to fit in everywhere and with everyone but at times he's such an awkward guy. Like on Kadara Port, where he talks to himself, just going "Relax Kosta, they don't know I was a cop... I'm not one now... No trouble..." Like he expects someone to pick a fight with him because he had a badge YEARS AGO IN A DIFFERENT GALAXY. 

It's just one of those moments where you realize he has so much to learn... But I admire him for always giving his 100%, no matter how nervous or awkward he is. It's very clear he wants to do the right thing always, and that’s good because all his efforts pay off in the end. People notice him trying and realize he means it. It’s all genuine. There's nothing fake about our Liam :)

You know that post about Ryder ignoring scavengers on Elaaden? Makes me think about all those absurd moments with enemies in Andromeda, like what must they think?

Imagine you're a Scavenger/Raider/Outcast and you and your pals have been waiting for the Pathfinder since forever, weapon in hands, perhaps sweating a little, when suddenly the Nomad appears. And by appear, let's be honest: one second there's nothing, the next there's a big ass car flying on your left. You're like... Okay. Driver is a bit enthusiastic? That's when the car hits the ground and drives around, almost like it's doing some back and forth, and now you're convinced the driver (most likely Pathfinder, since they're inside) is either drunk af or unhinged. That's when you realize that a mining probe is being launched. The Pathfinder is MINING. To you, this is a highly tense situation, a fight zone, but to the Pathfinder, this is a great way to get Graphite. It’s obvious to you now that they give ZERO FUCKS about you.

They get out of the Nomad and seem like they're talking to themselves. But you know, cool as a cucumber, totally unbothered by you and all your buddies pointing guns at them. A second later, you hear someone screaming "I AM INVINCIBLE!!!!!!!!" It's a huge krogan running towards you and you think 'fuck fuck fuck' and 'I'm going to find a nice little place in the middle of nowhere and start farming there, yep yep' and 'NEVER AGAIN' and you start running like crazy and actually everyone around you is running and screaming. It’s terrifying, but the worst part is, you feel like this is just a regular day for the Pathfinder.

“I miss the hell out of them. Some nights you just cry, right? That’s a thing everyone does?”

I'm always shocked by this but not in a judgmental way, more in a "they actually wrote this, this is a part of Liam's character" way. It's a man talking about crying without being asked about it and without reluctance. And he speaks of it as something that is natural. He's stripping away all the shame linked to it. Maybe he's looking for reassurance, too? But not about the crying I think, about missing someone so much you can feel it crushing you some nights.

It makes me sad because I think Liam didn't realize it would be that painful but at the same time, I’m glad he's brutally honest about it. He's saying "it's okay to cry because you miss someone" and he’s not wrong. It is okay. But sometimes you forget that, so it’s a nice reminder.

I find the role of asari in the Initiative VERY interesting. Basically, they aren't a part of the official leadership but they are put in all representative roles. With Avina, the asari diplomat on Aya, the asari in the cultural center, they're basically THE face of the Initiative and the ones the angara are immediately interested about. As representatives, they all give the same sort of speech: "Well, someone had to do it, so they picked me, but idk if I'm good at it, you know? I'll try my best." So we, as players, don't think there's anything weird with that. We don't see an agenda being pushed. But is there? Truly wondering. Would Tann want the asari to have all the powers? No. But is Tann likely to underestimate their powers as representatives and diplomats? Yeah. I think so.

And like I said, they aren’t an official part of the leadership but they have ways to take control. When we use the Nexus tram, we keep hearing news from HNS. This one is especially relevant: "Species are at odds as talks break down over a unified curriculum for Initiative kids. The asari say they'll wait it out until demands are met." The asari can wait A VERY LONG TIME. The other species can't. Krogan could counter, but they aren't a part of the Nexus anymore. So basically: immortal-like species who can block negotiations for a very long time + already in key positions as representatives/diplomats + a very long history of controlling and shaping a galactic community = history will repeat itself if the Initiative isn't careful.
