Before Long,

Florence grew into a teenager, and Anna into a child.

They were very close, but Anna felt sad knowing their time together as children was coming to an end.

“Why do you have to go?” She whined the day before Florence was set to leave.

“I told you Anna, I’m going to a private school. So I can learn everything about the world, and come back and teach it to you. You’d like that, wouldn’t you?”

Florence was the smartest person Anna knew, and she loved to listen to her explain just about everything. But now she wished her sister could be a little less bright, if only it meant she would stay on the farm.

“Of course.” She answered anyway.

Silas found himself unable to put into words the jumble of emotions swirling within him—a chaotic symphony of everything and nothing all at once.

After briefing Lucile on how to tend to their ailing parents, Silas and Josephine stepped out into the night, heading back toward their farmhouse. Silas moved like an empty vessel, each step echoing in his ears.

As Silas and Josephine readied for bed, the room's oppressive silence threatened to drown them. Only the occasional creaks of the mattress, adjusting under Silas's weight, dared to break the stillness.

Josephine pondered whether reaching out to Silas was even worth the effort. The sorrow in his eyes spoke volumes, yet every attempt at connection had failed.

With a sigh, she emerged from behind the vanity screen, attempting once more to bridge the gap. "I was thinking of dedicating my free time to helping Lucile care for your parents. I'll assist in keeping the house in order and ensuring they receive the care they need to recover."

Silas, a mask of emotionlessness, turned to look at her.

Josephine settled into her bed, expecting the familiar silence. However, she was taken aback when she felt a pair of arms encircle her.

"Silas?" she queried, but before she could voice her confusion, he gripped her waist and planted tender kisses on the back of her neck.

Josephine felt a mixture of nervousness and bewilderment.

"Is this how it's supposed to feel?" "This is normal, right?" "I'm being a good wife?"

As Silas's fingers slipped beneath her gown, their touch becoming more insistent, Josephine forced a smile, attempting to cooperate as best she could. "Luci did say he never acted this way with anyone else," Josephine winced at his harsh movements, but Silas seemed oblivious to her discomfort.

The only thing circulating through her head was,

"This must be a good thing."

OOC POST TALKIN

OOC: just for a bit of explanation for why I went this way with the story, I feel like a lot of uncomfortable topics stray away from the idea of " Wifely duties " and I know women through history struggled heavily with that concept being forced onto them. Josephine was been conditioned to have certain standards as a wife and having Silas as a character be very disconnected with his emotions I saw a potential for important character building.

Also just wanted to note since I have said publicly he has never felt Sexual or Romantic feelings, this is not a product of that. Sometimes when people are going through very stressful situations they do things/ even crazy stuff they.

The O' Cleirigh family!

I'm finally at the point in my sav rebuild where I can start upd8ing and replacing my townies & families. I wanted to share one of my custom townie family & their backstory despite the fact I don't ever play them.

William, defying his parents, married Helena. Now, he cares for his bitter mother, Magdalen, alone, straining his marriage. Needing relief, he frequents pubs for fleeting encounters.

Magdalen resents William for leaving for an unapproved marriage. Now, as a grandmother, she's determined to guide her grandchildren's choices.

Helena, a mother of two, strives to please Magdalen to salvage her marriage. Yet, suspicions about her husband's late nights strain their once-romantic bond.

George prioritizes his political ambitions over family, though he cares for Helena. He faces a tough choice: pursue political dreams or aid his sister.

Catherine rebels against family pressure to mature, yearning for freedom to dance and enjoy herself. Her grandmother's lectures only fuel her defiance.

Young Lucile grapples with family tension, puzzled by their constant bickering. She wonders why her sister's interests have shifted from playing dolls with her to dancing and boys.

"Luci, I appreciate you embracing me with such open arms." Josephine smiled, "I think even my closest friends would've preferred a break every now and then!"

Lucile listened intently as Josephine continued. She wrapped a hand around Josephine's arm as they walked, the snow and ice softly crunching beneath their heels.

"Our farm is honestly quite isolated Josie, we don't have company often. Ever since Charlotte and Willy got married, and Silas has always been focused on work, it can get lonely. If anything you should be tired of me! " Josephine gasped in response " I could Never! "

Josephine's smile dropped briefly at the mention of Silas's name. "Luci, may I ask for some advice?"

Lucile nodded, and Josephine leaned into Lucile's ear to whisper, "I've been very stressed lately. I feel like I'm not the best fit for your family. No matter how I try, Silas seems to avoid me. I feel like a ghost, pleading for him to see or hear me… "

I feel like a black sheep. Sometimes I even find myself questioning who he is married to exactly—is it me or my father? He's always going out to the factory to work alongside him, our dinners are often silent, and then he returns to his office."

Josephine shyly averted her gaze and spoke softly, " Our bedroom feels cold. "

Lucile furrowed her brow. "Silas has always been in pursuit of his own ventures. This is not your fault, I don't fear me brother." I'd be happy to remind him of his vows to you!"

Josephine wiped away a tear from the corner of her eye, and Lucile placed a hand on her shoulder. "Forgive me, putting up with him for so long has borne a grudge into me."

Papa likes to say, 'You can bring a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Unfortunately, Silas is one stubborn horse! He's never been one for public affection or romance."

" Let me talk to him for you, Josie…"

Josephine gently hugged Lucile. "No, Luci, that's okay. I don't want to be any trouble or do anything to push him away. I've got to find a way to make this work. Thank you for listening to me. You are a true friend."

Lucile released Josephine from the embrace with a smile. "You're apart of this family Josie! Don't fret; everything will work out."

"Now, we don't need to go home just yet!" Lucile cheered, "I haven't had someone to skate with in years!"
