low-key queer & bipoc antis haven't unlearned any of the ideology they might've grown up with from their parents/guardians.

but a lot of these antis are so hyperfocused on hating on "icky things" that they don't realize what they're arguing for is the erasure of media surrounding their community, and oftentimes they are using the same arguments Republicans use to justify hating minorities!

I don’t get the logic behind “Antis don’t know queer history because they might use a similar sentence structure to people who do”. Actually it isn’t even similar sentence structure; Two sentences were similar in the paragraph, the other ones were completely different sentences. It’s like saying “I have a theory people who hate apples also hate pancakes. This is because someone who hates pancakes might say ‘Pancakes are disgusting! They always get soggy when you put syrup on them but they taste bad without them! Pancake likers are so weird!’ and someone who hates apples might say ‘Apples are disgusting! There are too many options and they’re always so expensive! Apple likers are so weird!’.”

My logic isn't just similar sentence structure but rather why they think that way for both proship content/people and non-conforming queer people

Antis– from what i know personally –see themselves as the normal side of the fandom discourse, and often try to police victims who cope using darkshipping and things like that. if a victim doesn't fit what they think, they aren't a true victim in their eyes!

This is similar logic to how people (or antis) react to contradictory labels or GNC people identifying with something specific. For instance, if a nonbinary person posts themselves in feminine outfits and that's consistent with their agab, they'll get called a theyfab simply because they're not androgynous enough and don't fit the strict criteria made by the accuser!

also, during the annual "transmascs/transmen can't be lesbians" debate last year, many people simply refused to learn queer history and denied that historically some trans men still identified as a lesbian & were still connected to their femininity (see: stone butch blues).

most of this is anecdotal, though. i wouldn't know for sure if queer antishippers generally participate in ignorance of queer history, however i have seen them do that for a bit now! so if you personally don't believe me I won't force you to!

i have this theory that queer antishippers don't understand queer history and outright refuse it for the same reasons that they outright refuse the harmlessness of proshipping.

a trans ftm couple saying theyre lezzing out? Preposterous! That's not accurate and it's harming everyone in the trans community because two trans men called themselves lesbians and it doesn't fit my binary view of what a lesbian is !!!! therefore they are not REAL lesbians and are invalidating themselves!! /sar

A victim of child abuse saying they find darkshipping helpful? Preposterous! That's not accurate and harming all victims because theyre allowing for people to fetishize child abuse!!! It doesn't fit my view of what a victim should do and act like!! therefore they aren't a REAL victim!!

You probably shouldn't for respect and not make the situation worse, these are real people, not discourse i'm petty sure Choco doesnt want uninformed people jumping in to stir the pot.
