How it feels liking a non dark ship when everyone who posts about it is an anti
I can't seem to find the original poster of this image, but I figured it'd be a helpful thing to have around. Remember this, everyone!
(The text of the image is copied into the alt text, and the tags are for communities I'm in that this could be related to though hopefully everyone knows this already)
"antis online aren't controlling what payment processors are doing!! Us being uncomfortable isn't what's censoring itchio and steam!!" yes, everyone is aware that antis are not the ones implementing this censorship, we're making fun of antis because they finally got what they advocated for (and surprise, surprise, they don't like it. Who would have thought?)
Just remember, every time antis ganged up on an artist for drawing fetish porn that they don't like, or bullied someone off of a platform because they liked a problematic ship - this was advocating for censorship. "They are making content/saying things that makes me personally uncomfortable, so they have to go!" This mindset right here. Doesn't it sound familiar to what's going on right now? Oh, but that doesn't apply to your video games, right?
perverted megumi fans r so goated
Loud reminder for everyone
Censorship does not, and will not stop at the bad things you don't like.
It will censor anything and everything. You want minor x adult ships gone? Okay, but soon after they will go after informational articles on how to spot signs of csam in a child simply because it MENTIONS minor abuse.
You want domestic violence in fiction banned? Okay. They will go after websites that offer tips on how to get out of a d/v situation.
It. Will. Not. Stop. For. You.
You can dislike, hate, and find darkshipping content disgusting. But as soon as you support censorship, you are supporting one person to censor what THEY don't like. It will never be a good thing no matter what.
For those against censorship, here is what you can do to combat censorship happening right now.

how it feels to enter a regular comment section as a proshipper
Common misconceptions about proshipping:
Proship means "problematic shipping"
All proshippers shipp something
All proshipper spaces are NSFW
All proshippers cope using proshipping
All proshippers enjoy all tropes
All proshippers are lolisho
To be a proshipper, you need to engage with and enjoy dark media
Proshipping is just a way to cope. People grow out of that
What really is true:
Proshipping always meant "pro—shipping"
Proshipping means being anti harassment
There are plenty SFW spaces for proshippers. Proshipping can not be summarized as simply being just r34
Not all proshippers use it as a way to cope with something. There are people that just believe that censoship over fiction content and harassment over it is unnecessary.
You don't need to like every trope and every ship to be a proshipper. You can like one, you can like two, you can like NONE! you just need to be respectful.
You don't need to be a lolishocon to be a proshipper.
You can be a proshipper and dislike incest/age gape. You are still a proshipper since you don't go to ppl that enjoy those things and starts harrasing them.
Proshipping is a belief that in fandom spaces, you are free to enjoy fiction that you or other ppl made without the fear of being doxed or getting rape/death threats from random strangers. Respect is the base.
