“The Coqtail Party” - Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista by Patrick Demarchelier for Vogue UK (December 1987)
The Doctor meets Ace
The Doctor Who serial Dragonfire is a sadly underrated story, it has everything comedy, mystery, drama and irony.
Dragonfire is one of the reasons why the Seventh Doctor and Ace, are my favorite characters in the series long history. Dragonfire introduces us to Ace and faintly hints at a new direction for the series for the few years anyway.

TBT: Johnny Depp, 34 years ago, sometime in late 1987, through the lens of Chris Helcermanas-Benge, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
At that time Johnny (who was 24 years old) was filming for the TV series “21 Jump Street” in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and some photos of this photoshoot were released in dozens of magazines, just as simple photos and a short interview, and as posters of different sizes in order to promote the series. And the photos continued even years later as Johnny was becoming more famous. For example: One photo from this photoshoot was used 4 years later as the cover of a French TV Magazine released in August 1991.
The Ghost of Superman
Action Comics #595
Good fun. But a bit silly (in the end).
Silver Banshee is on a killing spree in the city. Even Superman dies! But he returns as a ghost.
Strong start, weak finish. The last page explains some things, but not all. It feels inadequate. As if the story wasn't really thought through, and then an ending had to be added. The first half is very good, with ordinary police trying to stop the villain. It gets sillier when the 'ghost' appears.
John Byrne (12 of 21).
