"Losing My Religion" is a song by American alternative rockband R.E.M., released on February 19 1991 as the first single from their seventh studio album, Out of Time. It developed from a mandolin riff improvised by the guitarist, Peter Buck. The lyrics, written by the singer Michael Stipe, concern disillusionment and unrequited love.

"Losing My Religion" is R.E.M.'s highest-charting hit in the US, reaching number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It reached number 19 on the UK singles chart, number 16 in Canada and number 11 in Australia. Its music video, directed by the Indian filmmaker Tarsem Singh, won Best Short Form Music Video and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal at the 1992 Grammy Awards, and won the awards for Video of the Year, Best Group Video, Breakthrough Video, Best Art Direction, Best Direction, and Best Editing at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards. The song was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2017, and Rolling Stone ranked it at number 112 in its 2024 list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time". In 2020, "Losing My Religion" reached one billion views on Youtube.

And the evening out of your dreams, taking you to the beach? Are you dreaming?

The same Lamine who got your name tattooed on the wrist?

The same boy who took you to France or Calabasas in Summer? Yes. Or no. Maybe it was just a dream.

He was making your life so cute and beautiful lately it doesn't look real. None of this looks completely real.

The same guy who sleeps on your shoulder, arms wrapped around your waist when you both take the train to go to some foreign destination

But at the same time, the boy who won World Cup at only 19. Yes it was him.

Moreover, you missed no concert, no birthday party, no wedding or even any important event of your life because he payed for them. Made sure you had all the things you needed.

Whether a dress, shoes, nails, hair whatever. You had all.

He has fulfilled all your desires and craves. He made you the happiest woman on earth.

And even without any particular reason, he bought you all of your favorite things. What a man.

He even called you all these corny nicknames you swore you hated but they sounded cute when they were coming out of his mouth somehow..

Those little things made Lamine so special in your life, you actually, like really wanted him.

Anything he made for you, was made out of true love.

He was loyal to you, never disrespected you, never hit you. He was genuinely loving you.

A relationship like this made it look like Ariana and Malcom (r.i.p)

Pure laughter, fun, joy and simply love. A pretty youth love.

We could think that Lamine is an immature guy who actually doesn't care but, I don't see it like this. He's not that type of person.

Your life looked like a dream recently, in which you didn't want to wake up because all of the moments where so intense. Even if it's a dream, may it never end.

And dreams sometimes become reality so it doesn't matter how long it takes.

He's such a dream to you. Yeah, he's the man of your life. Nothing can be over that.

But, let's be honest. Those material things like a brand new car, jewelry, and all, didn't mattered so much to you actually. Yes, you liked them. Yes you kept them, but the thing is, the thing or let me say, the person who made these things seem so little, was Lamine himself.

Over the gifts, there was the person who thinked about you, who bought them and gave them to you. The person who cared about how you feel and who the main goal was to make you smile. The same way he always does.

Your boyfriend who never forgot your birthday, the perfume you always wear, the snack or drink you always pick.

Honestly, if someone remembered those little details about me, they would be so important to me in my life. A real person, who actually cares about you, makes you worthy every day.

Things that doesn't matter to some people, actually matter to them and that's how Lamine acted with you. A charming prince and his little princess.

Lamine was moving like the type of man you daily dreamed about. He is exactly the man of your dreams. And all of this may be a dream after all. Keep that in mind.
