Friends and peers, equally as frightened as I was

Who walked beside me in my fear.

I met god that day.

And god was a man.

God was a woman.

God was a tangled horde,

A voice calling out from the soul of mankind.

North America 162 years ago today: Bleeding Kansas (06 Dec 1855) http://omniatlas.com/maps/northamerica/18551206/ In 1854 the Kansas-Nebraska Act created the new territories of Kansas and Nebraska, opening them up for settlement and granting them the right to choose whether or not to allow slavery through popular vote. The result was an influx of pro- and anti-slavery elements into Kansas in a bid to determine which way the vote would go, with both sides often resorting to violence.
