Slaanesh Favors Dechala Over Samael

Slaanesh denies Dechala ‘demon prince’ status because he favors her. While it is never stated in text, one can surmise based the qualities of his current favorites that They prefers self sufficient champions. Samael is so pathetic that he petition his god to suppress her when she was still his concubine. He’s a powerful demon prince while she was just a mortal! They even reprimanded Samael when when he complained. They decreed that so long as Samael is alive, Dechala cannot ascend.

However, Slaanesh’s favor is not necessarily a good thing. As the god of desire, they probably adore Dechala because she represent endless unfulfilled desire. They had showered her with mutations and magical artifacts, to the degree that she leads the strongest Slaaneshi war-band. She is equal to other princes in terms of power. Yet she will never attain the status that she deserves. Samael doesn’t matter to his god, he’s just a footnote They added to spice up Dechala’s journey. One can interpret that lack of Samael’s deeds is because he has been doing nothing but hiding in the chaos realms from Dechala. The true absolute loser amongst all of all of Slaanesh’s creations is Samael. At least Ssilvox is still the protagonist of his own story.
