I wish I had art to show for this, but I don't. Still, figured I would share, little by little, the fruits of my labor. I've made and tested a 70 card deck of tarot cards based on the Astrologian Deck of Sixty for roughly 7 years, ever since the second Encyclopedia Eorzea was released. Using what little information there was about Astrologians and their cards that could be found in the book, I combined the study of Numerology as it pertains to the art of Tarot to create logical base meanings for the suits of Irons, Crowns, and my own suit of Crystals.

So to those who find this post, if you have love for Final Fantasy XIV, Tarot Cards, Funny Numbers, please join me on this journey as I guide you through my thought processes, research and the derivative meanings this three eyed fortuneteller came up with.

An artist named Jess at Summerbird Studios made her own take on the Eorzean deck of sixty, which is a divination deck used by the Astrologian class in Final Fantasy 14. It's something I think is very cool and the deck is super nice air cushion finish quality tarot sized playing cards with hand printed deck bags and everything. The deck was original kickstarted and fulfilled, and now she has the leftovers up for sale now on her shop!

The Tale of You: The Final Fantasy XIV Deck of Sixty Tarot

The Tale of You, a fanmade Tarot Deck based off of Final Fantasy XIV's Deck of Sixty concept from their Astrologian Job Class.

I have 20 days left on my Kickstarter! To all my fellow friends of Fortune, be you Astrologians, fellow fortune tellers, or simply fans of either Tarot Cards or FFXIV, I ask you to please help me make my dream a realisty! I am trying to have an orfiginal Deck of Sixty created, based off the game, and it features wonderful art by a friend on DA named ‘Jack Manyhats’. Everything they have done so far is brilliant, but I need help making the rest of it a reality! The only way to get a deck of your own is by kickstarting, there are NO plans to sell it after creation to avoid legal problems with SquareEnix.

So please, friends, help bring the Deck of Sixty to fruition! Whether it be donations or signal boosting, your help would be greatly appreciated!

We begin our journey with the suit of Crowns. Represented by the Spire Arcana and the element of Lightning. Presided over by Rhalgr the Destroyer and Byregot the Builder. The Suit represents Dominion and Nobility, and as such I did my best to frame the meaning of the cards in the Suit to reflect that. I will be covering one card a day in both their Astral (Upright) and Umbral (Reversed) meanings, as well as how the Numerological meanings through Tarot helped shape the card. The Ace of Crowns, like all Aces, represents beginnings, specifically the start of something new and a powerful expression of the Suit's energy.

In its Astral state, it represents one coming into power, starting a new dominion and gaining new responsibilities as either a guide or leader. If depicted artistically, I imagine a crown being placed on someone's head like in some form of crowning ceremony, not completely on just yet.

In its Umbral state, it represents the loss of power, or losing such responsibilities in relation to surrounding circumstances. Artistically, with the card being Reversed it would give the sense of the crown falling off, better illustrating the point.

6. Astral Arrow - The Heaven of Wind. Llymlaen. A portent of travel or being guided to a far off destination.  May represent someone  close who is an explorer, adventurer, mountain climber, saint, or one who rescues those listed.

The Interpretation

Oh General of the Flames, the Two of Crowns tells that you and another need to work as one to succeed in an upcoming conflict. For this other, the Ace of Irons states it is the beginning of their redemption to do so. The Five of Rings states initially that the two of you may be isolated from those you seek to aid, this is due to her past actions. She is the Lady of Rings, one who focused more on her perceived duty than the ties of those around her. Do not worry.. through trials and tribulations, the Six of Staves states that eventually both you and her will attain the recognition needed to properly do your job and the self-confidence to do so with your heads held high. ANd you will need this.. for the Arrow dictates that both you and her will be traveling afar to aid others in need of your help.

The Interpretation

The Ace of Staves speaks of being weighed down by events in your life. The reason for this is relatively clear. One you know, the Knave of Cups, is being their natural charming rogue-ish self… and in doing so have become entangled by the Lady of Cups, who takes the whispered playful words as truth and has clung to him like a limpet. By the blessing of the Spire, you will be needed to help turn this from a possible mistake to lasting relationship, for there is something there that both of them can happily benefit from. The Six of Knives says the only thing holding them back is a large amount of emotional baggage on both ends. Still, the Three of Rings says that by working together, you can get this entire relationship thing finished so you can move on to bigger and greater projects, now with two good friends at your side… so long as they aren’t too busy mooning at each other.

2. Astral Balance - The Heaven of Fire. Nald'Thal. A portent of great fortune amassing. Possibly represents someone close who is just, fair, honest or philanthropic.

3. Umbral Five of Staves - Conflict avoidance. Diversity. Agree to disagree.

4. Astral Five of Crowns- Unsure path of succession of power.

5. Astral Lord of Staves - The Chief. A natural-born leader who is honorable, who has a strong vision for the future that he shares with those who follow him.

6. Umbral Knave of Staves - The Anarchist. One who rages against power for the sake of imagined slights, all for the sake of gaining power himself.

The Interpretation

The Three of Cups states that you and two others will be locked in conflict with each other… this is due to the Balance granting all of you the chance of amassing great power and fortune. While the Five of Staves states it is better to share the fortune, the Five of Crowns says that only one may claim it, though there is no one way to decide who gains it. The two you will be in conflict with are the Lord of Staves, a man who is a natural born leader with a natural charisma that causes others to easily follow him, and the Knave of Staves, one who covets power and detests being ordered by anyone. The two will be in constant conflict with each other, and it is up to you, Blessed of the Builder, to decide on whether to support one or the other.. or stand tall and aim for it yourself.

Beware the Lord of Crowns, whose only ‘positive’ feature is his family name, for she seeks to court you and will not take no for an answer. The Two of Cups states that he will become infatuated with you… almost dangerously so. Seek aid from the Lord of Knives, a militant man of clear mind and focused goals. By the Four of Rings, they will grant you asylum from the fevered seductions of the Lord of Crowns. Beware, friend, for obstacles arise that seek to hinder your long term goals… for the Lord of Crowns has someone manipulating him. Behind the scenes is the Lord of Cups, manipulating his emotions to get at his power and keep you off balance. Never forget that even if others lives are important, yours is too. You are worth more than you give yourself credit for, hold fast to your worth and do not allow others to manipulate you or those you care for, and you will see things through.
