I actually physicallY CANNOT get over how fucking amazing the end scene was in 5.06.
From the silent but absolutely all-consuming yearning for each other through lingering gazes to almost—almost letting it all go again with the “goodnight”s because, well, this is so new and so strange and it’s so them to always keep each other at arm’s length and never quite close enough...only to then in an instant simultaneously realize: “this. This is what I want. I want you. I want us. Why the hell am I trying so hard to stay away..?” and then it all breaks free...
Yet as captivating all the passionate kisses and touches and boiling hot chemistry is, what struck me most in this whole montage was...this:
He’s asking her, isn’t he?
In the most gently subtle way he’s asking her if this is what she wants. Because you can tell with the tremble of his hand he’s...nervous? because despite having done this with thousands of people a thousand different times it was only ever about hot thick pleasure—but this...?
just like she takes his hand and lets him lead her to the place he feels safe, his kingdom:
he lets her intertwine her fingers with his and tower over him, give away all his control:
But still through it all their hands are interlocked. Because this isn’t about bodies aimlessly colliding in lust anymore, this is about balance and so much trust and this undefinable sense of... togetherness.
(Almost as if saying to each other: “here I am. I give myself to you fully and completely. Please don’t break me...please don’t break me..”)
