actually, i saw a post talking about how CC aren't activists and it's just. it's really got me thinking! i don't usually do these kinds of posts so feel free to scroll
i use these streams as a means to escape my stressful life! someone in my house is yelling at me? bam almost always someone is streaming. no one's stream is interesting today? luckily they have an officially approved vod channel who updates reguarly.
not feeling a stream? look at all these highlight & clip channels to numb my mind. all these animatics, fanarts, comics, fanfiction. all of it to turn my bran and comfort me and make me feel safe.
and i know im not alone! we have the term 'comfort streamer' for a reason, i was deep into boo/bee/tubbotwt, everyone there watches ranboo & tubbo to calm down, to feel safe!
so why is it so many people want to hear about these cc talk about political issues (ones they're not usually informed about), when it's something people are trying to escape/distract themselves from?
i know people want to signal boost important subjects, subjects people should reach out too. but cracking down on cc who are very young.(not just the teens because too many people reference ranboo/tubbo/tommy specifically, when we should include everyone else who isn't a child but is still young!!)
and often times these streamers, youtubers, cc whatever, do this as a means to escape too! like it's their job, but they also enjoy streaming. they like it? it's a hobby? imagine doing a harmless hobby to help yourself de-stress and suddenly everyone's angry at you for wanting to enjoy yourself?
it makes no sense! none at all! there are people here who are willing to talk about these issues, who are educated and aren't people who are doing a job/hobby that's COMPLETELY unrelated.
yeah it's good to watch an educated person, yeah it's fine to inform them if they said something wrong/teach them if they're willing. but don't force them to learn. let them live, let them continue what they love because they're not hurting you. reach out to someone who's job/hobby IS boosting these voices & issues.
i'm just so so so so SO tired of being drowned in this whirlpool of everyone saying so and so is bad because they aren't talking about an issue, and thus criminalizing everyone else who enjoys them.
y'all (mcytwt) literally bullied a child so badly he's in therapy. which good on him for taking care of himself, but are you guys not sick with yourselves?
i wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing i caused so much stress on someone they're taking therapy as a direct reaction to my actions. shame on twitter, shame on everyone who participated in that culture too.
