I genuinely think that some queer kids now need to stop being so ashamed of being queer that they tell other lgbtq people to stop being “too much”. I remember another teenage trans guy told me that I was too much because I said my pronouns were he/they and not he/him. Same thing goes for people telling others in fandoms that they can’t headcanon a character as trans/gay/bi etc, like okay motherfucker, I guess I’ll go back to having no representation and being fucking depressed. This is a reminder to everyone: “too much” doesn’t exist, it’s just people who are jealous because they’re ashamed of themselves and you aren’t.
“You dont want kids? I said the same thing at your age. You’ll realize later.”
“You’re trans? You’re too young to know that. You’ll grow out of it.”
“You’re an atheist? You don’t actually disbelieve, you’re just mad at god. One day, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess.”
“You’re a leftist? You’ll become more conservative eventually; every generation does when they come into contact with The Real World™️”
“You’re gay/ace/queer? You just havent met the right man/woman yet.”
If you say any of the above things give me your personal information so i can harm you
“This neurodivergent advocate ended up actually being ableist out of nowhere!” Was it out of nowhere or were they weird about personality disorders and psychotic disorders?
“This disabled advocate ended up actually being ableist out of nowhere!” Was it out of nowhere or were they weird about ambulatory wheelchair users and invisible disabilities?
“This queer advocate ended up actually being bigoted out of nowhere!” Was it out of nowhere or were they weird about asexuals and non binary people?”
“This poc advocate ended up actually being racist out of nowhere!” Was it out of nowhere or were they weird about darkskin people and people with trouble speaking English?
A lot of the time people tend to ignore when someone is bigoted towards a commonly picked on identity because it’s “not a big deal”, when it’s really a litmus test for how that person really feels about the community at large.
