This one is a bit gorey so apologies for that, but i am extremely proud of this one! This was completed 20/8/25 :) process and sketches are below!

(Im gonna tell you a secret: this is actually an accompaniment to my one of my whumptober prompts! So keep tuned if you would like to see a short fic to match this art piece.)

Overall this piece took 3 pieces of paper. The background, the foreground and the detail work were all seperate pieces. The details include a pair of ribs i cut by hand (about the size of the tip of my thumb) and a heart (although not pictured very clearly, it is there) as well as the extra flame spouts.

Colouring was done with alcohol markers and water colour. I decided to forgo my usual “underpainting” of pencils, as i wanted both Luffy and Ace to look washed out and—well— deadlooking. Additionally, i used paint pens and thin strips of paper to create the skin peeling away from ace and the strings of flesh in the cavity of his chest.

This piece, overall, took about 2 weeks to finish as it was very labour intensive.
