You might have noticed on those latest screenshots that Ginger was pregnant again. So, the family has another baby girl now. My random name thingy named her Henrietta. But I may have to rename her to Dee. For reasons.

In my test-game in Caldey Isle I needed some sims around town so I took some simselfs from The Sims Daily :) (Ignore the horrid clothes that don’t fit at all in Caldey!)
The first two are Webby and Dee, they seem to be working as stylists.
The second pic is the lovely Jen trying a new look.

Lol I’ve never had a fire in TS4 O.o had them all the time in the previous games. Are they all cooking the same recipe when it happens? The Curse of the Grilled Cheese? :)
I haven’t detected any pattern regarding the recipe yet (although usually my stove fires seem to have been caused by low cooking skill). The stove isn’t even the worst culprit. I’ve had a lot of variety in fire sources.
I mean ... yeah, Brianna had a good old stove fire shortly after finding her own place, but it all began when Alexander and Brianna were still kids and continuously set their chemistry set on fire. Melody had very bad luck in her career as a scientist and created a fire while trying to experiment on a new serum. And the campfire has also been a huge culprit in fires. More on that in future updates ...
Are there any other objects that can cause fire in this game? If so I’m sure I’ll find them. My game seems to be on a mission to ‘warn’ me of all the fire hazards. Dee finds this hilarious. This is one thing where I do NOT agree with her.
This got rather long, so replies to deelightfuldelights and lauraraeamos under the cut.

Fire! Yay!
I’m glad my sims’ misery amuses you. :P But actually, I was laughing myself when this happened, just because all of her coworkers were just standing there watching and none even tried to help her.
Still, poor Melody. She really didn’t have a lot of luck in life (or death).
lauraraeamos replied to your photoset“Melody had an accident at work :( Too bad she didn’t make any friends...”
Wow, that's a bad day at work! :o Did you exit without saving? lol!
I didn’t, actually. I have a strict no-reload policy unless it’s something that is clearly a bug. It’s nice that the game sometimes throws such unexpected things at us. If I had really wanted to save her I suppose I could have just directed her to take a shower, since that’s supposed to help, right? Haven’t tried it yet, but I seem to remember that showers can help sims not to die in the flames.
But in addition to my no-reloading policy I also prefer to allow my sims as much autonomy as possible. I control them to take care of basic needs and get some order into their daily lives. Also to help them fulfill their whims. But other than that they are mostly free to do as they please (mostly, because that does vary from day to day, depending on my mood and how much those little pixel people annoy me that day). So, I decided she either had to use the shower autonomously or somebody else had to help her (since there was a whole room full of other sims around).
Plus, my save needed some drama. Now I feel like a really bad simgoddess.

Boo! I want fires!
I know you do. ;) But don’t worry, since the sims in this save are hopeless pyromaniacs you’ll get to see fires. Just not today ... (I was rather surprised that Jeanne didn’t set fire to the thing as soon as she touched it, since that’s what happened whenever the previous generations’ kids touched the chemistry set.)
starlightdiner replied to your photo“That is the face of a girl who just got an “A” in school.”
Yay! Congrats Jeanne!
Jeanne says “Thank you”!
starlightdiner replied to your photoset “The kids were devastated when their grandpa Ethan died of old age...”
Oh no!
I know, right?! Probably the saddest death ever in my game. There he is, just spending a day with the grandkids in the pool and then Grimmy makes an appearance. :(
Also, starlightdiner and simfetti tagged me. I already answered those questions two days ago, but I’m totally going to change my answer for ‘favourite movie’ to add “Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödl” to the list of movies that I love. It’s a retelling of Cinderella (Czech/GDR production and fifteen years older than me). danjaley mentioned it and thus reminded me of that gem. This movie also has one of the best soundtracks ever:
Also, fun fact: During christmas time you can watch this movie non-stop just by switching between tv channels fast enough. Literally every channel airs it at some point, most even repeatedly.

She certainly is! <3
