Peppino en el espacinno
Another Pizza Tower drawing, now in space
I got into a sci-fi/space kick some weeks ago, and decided to do something about the Deep-Dish 9 aliens. I wasn't sure if I should draw the Pickle or the Cheeseslimes from the Cheese Planet, so I only drew these ones
This is one of my favorite levels, I like it's aesthetic, pretty much cartoon sci-fi, the kind that was aboundant in 90s or early 2000s cartoons. Especially how all the technology looks like colorful plastic toys, and the usual visits to strange planets with alien monsters, with their respective psychedelic color palette
Well, here you go. By the way, I heard about another project by the Pizza Tower developers called Woon, I hope it is something interesting, the characters they showed already caught my attention heh
Pizzatober Day 23 - Moon Cheese
To be honest...at first I didn't even know what to draw XD But then I remembered that in Deep Dish 9 was actually a part of the level that was literally the moon but with cheese and...well, here we are. XD Even though I'm not fully happy with the outcome.
Peppino can't believe it was made out of cheese the whole time already.
Great VGM: Extraterrestrial Wahwahs - Pizza Tower
It was only a matter of time before I started talking about Pizza Tower's Soundtrack. I love Pizza Tower, absolutely adore it and how utterly bonkers it is. It's like if you took Wario Land 4, Sonic the Hedgehog, a little bit of Metroid and threw in a dash of Courage the Cowardly Dog (or Rocko's Modern Life) with a pinch of Earthworm Jim and then blended it all together to make a video game about an anxiety riddled chef who is trying his damnedest to save his business from an evil flying pizza that wants to blow it up.
Pizza Tower's gameplay is only part of the experience however. The other part is its phenomenal soundtrack, of which I'm here to post about one of my favorite songs: "Extraterrestrial Wahwahs," which is the theme music to the stage Deep Dish 9.
Deep Dish 9 is a stage that sees our hero, Peppino Spaghetti, travel through space and rocket off to a world that is home to the Olives and later a planet made of cheese. Accompanying Peppino is this absolutely funky track as he space races through to collect the five toppins, smash some meteors, obtain the secret treasure and eventually make his way back to the entrance of the level.
Further thoughts on Deep Dish 9.
Voyager. Is it a coffee shop or a travelling coffee seller that is lost wayyyy across town and not seen for years.
Deep Dish Date
Read a few of the absolutely precious Deep Dish Nine AUs and now I can’t stop picturing DD9 Garak as a pseudo-long haired younger Conleth Hill who dresses like tv Hannibal Lecter.
Deep Dish Nine story idea
I have a story idea I’ve been kicking around for a couple years and I can’t decide if I should do it.
The idea came up after I was in Berlin a couple years ago and visited the Stasi museum in the former East Berlin. I was familiar with the Stasi but that museum has some very powerful exhibits and you really got a sense of what a surveillance society the DDR was. Statistically the people if the DDR were the most surveilled society in history.
Anyway, after that I started thinking about the Stasi versus the Obsidian Order. Like, what would Garak think about the Stasi and their techniques? DDR society? The ubiquitous spying, wiretapping, people ratting each other out, keeping massive dossiers on individuals, etc.?
Pretty quickly a story idea evolved in my mind set in the Deep Dish Nine AU. My idea is a new guy moves in to the apartment building who’s a bookworm and opens a bookstore. He’s about Garak’s age but without much fashion flair, more frumpy. Julian or Garak meet him when he’s moving into the building. They also go to the store and get book recs. They know he’s German but he’s kind of spare about personal details. Eventually Garak susses out he’s from the former DDR. He then begins theorizing. Julian tells him he’s being absurd but it turns out that yes, this guy is ex-Stasi. I don’t picture him as an ex-interrogator, spy, or really nasty type, but more as a civil servant at the big office is Berlin. He avoids mentioning this for pretty obvious reasons. From this point on there is more story. (No, they don’t form a threesome or do anything sexual.)
Thoughts? Is it stupid? I’ve roleplayed it it and it works but I don’t know if it’s far-fetched.
