Brunswick, 2018.
Deep storage stacks.
Strong pressure, roaring static. A portal opens to a plane of checkerboard, black and white. A figure like a man, a dragon, and a goat flanked by twisted, skeletal bird-men with scythes for hands. He considers her, nods, and passes through a present; the portal snaps shut. Inside, a chain that will bind any daemon of the Four to the will of the wielder. Also, human teeth.
The secretary nearly fainted. This was far far far too dangerous a gift. Hurriedly she wrapped the chain back into its box, careful to not touch the cursed item. The office dropped to the very bottom levels of her library. Deep Storage. Here she was free to use her true form, here it was necessary, here the Warp was strange.
Where to put the damned thing? Not where reality broke, not near the many holes in space time, not near the souls, not near the captured, not near the back-ups, not near the clones. Twisting, turning through the labyrinthine corridors and shelves. There was no place to put it…
Sinking to the ground she shuddered. It was far too dangerous. There was Tzeentch’s library… Or put it in another universe?…Khorne! The one god bound by honour.
The Warp wobbled around her as she entered his court. Many a daemon and soul hissed at her. The deity quieted them. Climbing to his shoulder they spoke in hushed tones. The blood slowly draining from his face. Carefully he accepted the box and its contents, clenching it in his fist. Rising from his throne he let her see his cellars, so she might find a suitable place.
She did. None that were of flesh or had once been of flesh could enter, no daemon would dare enter, what a strange little thing she was.
Thanking the god she returned to her desk… Teeth. Eyes rolling to the back of her head she collapsed to the floor. Tzeentch resuscitated her some time later providing evidence that they were from a corpse (he had in fact exchanged them while Kyete was unconscious).
