Various Artists - "Deep Heads Dubstep Vol. 2" on the hi-fi this morning. Deep Heads is a UK label that has devoted itself to curating some of the very best underground "deep" Dubstep and this collection, their latest, is extraordinary. It includes some old favorites like Synkro, Geode, Biome, Commodo and Matt Deco and introduces some newer producers as well but the common themes are depth and excellence throughout. 33 tracks in all, there isn't a weak one in the bunch. This is a label I trust so much that I have started buying every vinyl release whether I've heard it or not. For those of you who's only knowledge of Dubstep is the unnamed producer who's missing a side of hair, this is NOT that.
