Stake-outs were not your favorite. Having to spend all night in a warehouse to get the jump on your targets was not at all glamourous, but necessary. The night had gotten much colder than you had anticipated, and Seonghwa was insistent on helping to keep you both warm.
He had been a partner and nothing more, no matter how often you could sense your own closeness increasing with every interaction. The times you had to pose as a couple were effortless, and it often didn’t feel like playing a part anymore.
“I told you I was fine” You grumbled, though you sank down into the warmth of his arms and chest against your back.
He chuckled lightly and his breath ghosted the side of your neck. You shivered.
“Your stubbornness is going to get you killed.”
He was joking, but you still glared into the darkness.
“Good thing I wouldn’t let that happen.” He added, squeezing you, and your eyed softened as your cheeks prickled with welcomed warmth.
