JUST IN: French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte have filed a U.S. defamation lawsuit against far-right conspiracy theorist and podcaster Candace Owens, who claimed that France’s First Lady “is in fact a man.” The 218-page lawsuit, filed in Delaware on Wednesday, accuses Owens of publishing “outlandish, defamatory, and far-fetched fictions”, chief among them that Brigitte Macron was born male under the name Jean-Michel Trogneux.

In real life, Brown was committed to social causes that helped the disabled, women, Blacks, and, especially, working people. It's fortunate for Helen Deutsch (screenplay)/Richard Morris (book) and Meredith Willson (score) that Margaret Brown died 30 years before they defamed her, as she could and, ideally, would have brought the wrath of God down on their heads.

Making jokes about children in Gaza is not the same as joking about ICE or inventing a nonsense fanfic with a celebrity. In this case, what is at stake is the real and ongoing suffering of thousands of innocent people. On the other hand, when a fanfic uses Evan Peters in an offensive, defamatory, or exploitative way, it crosses the line of humor and becomes disrespectful.

If people believe Armie is in rehab because Vanity Fair said so and Armie’s team didn’t deny it they must also believe the rest of the trash VF wrote. They claimed during the Lone Ranger shoot he was always wasted and would drive 140 miles per hour without getting caught. They said he was addicted to everything under the sun but ‘built like a tank’ so he hardly felt it. And they said saint liz was the one who convinced Armie to go to rehab and did so for her. Armie’s team didn’t deny any of that. Because the ‘sources’ were the Barbies and we all know how reliable they are.

I think the theory behind this strategy is that it’s pointless to respond to blatant, nonsensical lies, because it may only inadvertently validate the article in some people’s minds with a public response, by entertaining BS with any kind of response.

There are those who have already made up their minds about what’s true about Armie Hammer, without any actual evidence to prove that he did any of the ridiculous things that Julie Miller claims in both of her hit pieces in VF against Armie Hammer. So there’s no point in it.
