Since making a Tumblr under my own full name, I have been made aware of a rather concerning, if impressively stale, situation on this platform involving a deeply unstable Tumblr user, apparently an Iranian civilian living in London, who has spent several years maintaining that I somehow orchestrated an elaborate conspiracy against her during a long-ago online feud.

(Worthy of Jason Bourne, perhaps, but... not true.)

Whether this individual objects to my morals, my professional life, my volunteer work, my disability civil-rights enforcement work, my poetry, my historical fiction, my blog for The Times of Israel, my satirical essays critiquing Trump and American suburban interior design, my promotion of Palestinian statehood, my "sit-down" comedy, my personality, my family, or simply my continued existence, I cannot say.

Her campaign most notably includes a post using my full legal name, linking me to various and sundry usernames and hobbies, and making a series of paranoid and entirely false claims about my supposed behavior, some of which are very serious.

For the record, any claim that I have deliberately endangered another person, attempted to have anyone harmed, or engaged in the conduct she describes is entirely untrue.

My own statements and writing on the topic of explicit parasociality have made my position quite plain.

Naturally, despite the post being several years old, this matter has been reported to Tumblr’s Legal and Trust & Safety teams for defamation, threats, targeted harassment, and violations of Tumblr’s own platform policies.

One does not simply publish someone’s full legal name alongside demonstrably false and inflammatory allegations of serious wrongdoing and assume there will be no consequences.

I have no interest in engaging with this individual or participating in her fixation. I do, however, sincerely hope she finds the stability and support she appears to need.

A federal judge in Florida on Friday tossed President Donald Trump’s $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times.

U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday ruled that Trump’s lawsuit was overly long and was full of “tedious and burdensome” language that had no bearing on the legal case.

“A complaint is not a megaphone for public relations or a podium for a passionate oration at a political rally,” Merryday wrote in a four-page order. “This action will begin, will continue, and will end in accord with the rules of procedure and in a professional and dignified manner.”

The judge ruled that Trump has 28 days to file an amended complaint that should not exceed 40 pages in length.

First things first, im deeply ashamed in the imvu community to allow this person to continue to walk around and spread lies about someone. Especially something as serious as being accused of being a pedophile. The law has cleared me, i was investigated by a PI and he personally told me Monday, June 8th that i was cleared and that all information regaurding katheryn was sent over to the Iowa Police department already. I made this report on this woman back in February with my room mate who saw our messages from top to bottom, she got arrested May 1rst . I was in the hospital due to this thing eating me alive in February just before I came out and spoke up about Katheryn being a pedophile, and I was again may 10th due to an overdose attempt because of all this harassment and wrongful accusations. When i got investigated, they told me that they saw the messages between Kathryn and I, I keep telling everyone that if i genuinely sent CP or said anything out of the ordinary, that I wouldn't be sitting here free out of jail while Katheryn is already behind Bars/ Arrested. Lexi/Dollyy/Fathers: shes been harassing me for over a month, and has not stopped with her witch hunt even after ive been cleared by police like she orginally wanted, i may not have sat and reported myself. But someone else did and I got investigated and cleared. Proof of her motive down below and her willingness to fix our relationship by blackmailing me

Proof that the IMVU burn book is biased when i came to them with actual proof of something but they refused to post further calling me a pedophile and claiming i did something i never did.

My point here is that, watch who your trusting and believing when it comes to serious accusations such as these. Its very life ruining and unless you have all the facts and the proof of someones wrongful doings then dont plead them as guilty before the law does. It is so frustrating that when someone sends you a Letter of Claim accusing you of defamation and threatening to sue you, you can't even share the details publicly. If you're poor, you have to find money to pay for a lawyer or scramble to try to respond without one and risk not understanding the law. How can you crowdfund even for the initial fee for a lawyer when you can't be open about why you need it? You're stuck in limbo, waiting to see if you actually get sued, and paying money for a lawyer that you can't even claim back most of the time unless the worst happens and they go through with suing you and you win.

For legal reasons, this is a generic post about how this situation sucks for poor people and I cannot comment further at this time.
