When it comes to defaultism, the argument that the server of the site is in a particular country is so weird to me because I don't know that unless i look it up, it's not important to the site and it's users at all.
It would make more sense to say that the biggest chunk of users is from a particular country but still... making a post reffering to sth specific to your country on a public site is a certain type of decision that can, depending on context, be quite dumb actually.
Like sometimes we don't know what other countries are like. Normal. But, what bothers me is that if someone from any country other than the usa does this, usaians are going to "correct" it or demean it as if their country is the only one out there and everyone else is making stuff up (instead of like, learning about other places). Meanwhile when an usaian does this, the rest of us just go "ah, they must be from usa" and move on like normal people
