Why waste time proving over and over how great you are, when you could be getting better? Why hide deficiencies instead of overcoming them? Why look for friends or partners who will just shore up your self-esteem instead of ones who will also challenge you to grow? And why seek out the tried and true, instead of experiences that will stretch you? The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well... this is the mindset that allows people to thrive during some of the most challenging times in their lives.

I know this will be controversial again because my nutritional health info posts are usually taken the wrong way by some groups of people (and I understand where you are coming from, but I'm not who you project me to be) so let me be real clear:
I don't give a fuck what you look like or how much you weigh. Absolutely not relevant. What I do care about is your cells getting the nutrition they need to function correctly and that this nutrition is available to anyone no matter what their bank account says.
What matters to me is how heavier people don't get adequate medical treatment and can have undiagnosed deficiencies because some doctors only tell them to come back when they lost weight as if their weight mattered or even was the answer to everything. I care about people going to the emergency room with Skorbut and Pellagra in the year of our Lord 2020 because their pay is so low they can't afford to eat something other than instant ramen (yes I'm talking about real cases). I care about how skinny people can have inflammation and heart attacks from adipose tissue on organs (where it does not belong) and nobody helps them either because they "aren't fat" so it couldn't be possible they have this issue.
Weight does not matter. What matters is that everyone gets what they actually need and that this is made possible through socio-political and communal action as well as a paradigm shift in medicine. I'm tired because we as a society keep discussing the wrong issues, and not in a constructive manner. If children don't get school lunches that give them the nutrition they need to study and grow, it's not constructive to say it's their parents fault for feeding them "wrong", we are simply failing as a society. If vegetables cost more than bread and the city forbids communal gardens where you can grow your own together with your neighbors and even goes so far as to burn down "illegal" gardens, I'm here to ask why certain groups are barred from accessing the nutrition they need and I'm not here for any classist bullshit that glosses over the fact that poverty is an installation, not a character flaw.
