Project #DefineOlicity Tips
The #DefineOlicity Project is off to a fabulous start (don't forget it runs from March 1 - 15th, so keep those words coming!) but some people have contacted me, struggling to create their words and unsure how to proceed.
I have a couple of tips that might help but be warned: once you start? You'll be whipping off words left and right in seconds. LOL. It's addictive fun.
I find that the most helpful thing to do is:
- create 2 lists of words that I associate with Oliver & Felicity. Just brainstorm here. Don't think too hard about it. Just jot them down as they come for you. Free associate, don't filter. Just go where your mind takes you.
when you're done...
- look for common or "overlapping" letters. For example: Lively and Exciting have and "e" and an "i" in common. Remarkable and Radiant have a "r" and "a" in common
- overlap the words at the spot of that common letter. Taking that example from above that could look like: Excively (Exciting + Lively) or Remadiant or Radiarkable (Remarkable + Radiant)
- Prefixes and suffixes always make for easy overlaps. Beautiful and Spectacular easily truncate to become Spectactiful or Beauticular.
Can't think of words? Look for helpful sites that group words based on themes like Romantic Words of Love or Words Of Love also Feeling Words and Emotion Words. Google is a great resource. Just type in a search like: 'words to describe love' or words that describe romance' and a ton of lists will pop up to help inspire you.
