This unlucky rabbit arrived at the centre with a nasty degloving injury to her leg. Although it looked bad, there was still enough skin remaining to close the wound and, after cleaning it, this is what Maru did.
She was placed on a course of antibiotics and painkillers before being sent away with one of our rabbit carers for continued support. The wound is healing well and we hope she will be back in the wild soon!
My second actual like big irrational fear is getting degloved, anytime theres anything around my fingers i feel like im moments away from getting degloved. So i will literally never wear rings for any longer than a few minutes at most. Which sucks cause theres some cool rings out there i’d love to wear but i can’t risk it.

A lady i work with told us today her elderly mother fell and broke her pelvis this weekend :/ when she was falling her daughter grabbed her arm trying to relieve the fall. BUT WHEN SHE DID THAT HER MOMS SKIN RIPPED DOWN HER ARM! ITS CALLED “DEGLOVE” I seriously had no idea this could happen and now im freaking out and getting goose bumps! IDK why im freaking out! Did you all know this could happen? I mean she is old and has thin skin but damn! gahhhh im just really not content right now!
