Justice for Deion Fludd
In 2013, Deion Fludd and his girlfriend slid through a turnstile on a single card swipe so that they could spend a few more minutes together while Deion waited for the train. That was when he was stopped by police. Deion already had 5 minor infractions on his record, so he ran. What happened next is disputed: police claim he ran onto the tracks and was hit by a train, but when Deion woke up in the hospital, he said officers chased him down, beat him brutally, and then put him on the tracks to stage that he'd been hit. He died two months later of complications from his injuries. The police officers involved failed to document anything about the incident and did not call the MTA to stop train traffic, which renders their testimony suspect, and Deion's family contested the claims.
