In realms of thunder's might he roams,

Mjölnir in hand, the god who owns.

Thor, the wielder of the storm,

Gifts bestowed in lightning's form.

Beneath the sky's electric dance,

He guards both mortal and Asgard's expanse.

Hammer's weight, a power untold,

Gifts of protection, tales unfold.

Mjölnir's strike, a thunderous gift,

Defender of realms, spirits lift.

Bringer of storms and cleansing rain,

Thor's gifts echo through each domain.

In battles fierce, his strength revealed,

A guardian's shield, a fate to wield.

With lightning's spark and thunder's roar,

Thor's gifts endure forevermore.

Being a cleric of Thor

I have had a lot of great deity interactions, ranging from incredibly meaningful to fucking hysterical. This is one of the latter.

My family, standing in the kitchen: *talks about it raining*

Me, known Thor cleric, jokingly: I could also just ask.

Mom, challengingly: Ok. Ask him.

Me, shrugging: Alright.

*I do a small ritual with an electric candle and some Gatorade. A similar ritual has worked in the past, but this time I’m more just like ‘eh, do what you want’, because while I don’t think he’ll be offended by testing per say, I make it clear that it’s up to him. I tell my parents the same*

Later. I have drank the offering, as I am ought to do. My mom walks into the room.

Mom: So, didn’t you say you asked Thor for rain? How did that-

Immediately, an unmistakable rumble of thunder. Like. Cut her off. I begin to cackle.

I am of the opinion that science and religion can and should coexist and work together, and therefore I think that many cracks of thunder and bolts of lightning are simply that, maybe doing double duty as signs of physics and signs of the metaphysical.

But this one? I’m pretty sure this one was just Thor laughing, and I’m pleased to be able to laugh with him.
