Not me thinking about how Louis can't say 'I love you' because those are the last words he said to Paul before he killed himself, and then he calls Lestat 'love' right before he slits his throat, but then here he is telling Daniel that Armand is the 'love of his life...'
(Also conversely how Lestat's desperate need to be loved and his fundamental insecurity alongside Louis' inability to say it causes much of the conflict in their relationship (and is a factor underlying Lestat's abusive behaviour) but then those new song lyrics say 'pretending you actually love me again' indicating that perhaps Lestat has finally worked through some of this and realized that Louis always did love him and it's his fault that everything went so sideways...)
