The drugs were finally wearing off, though Shay was still drowsy. Everything was blurred and the one light in the room was so bright everything else was impossible to see. The last thing the brunette remembered was walking out of her apartment building and a needle in the neck. Typical. Cliché.
As Shay started coming to, a faint dripping sound could be heard nearby and she noticed the vague smell of maple syrup. And her head was POUNDING. It felt like a hammer was repeatedly bashing into her temple, which only grew worse when trying to open her eyes. When Shay finally did open them, her gaze drifted around the room, taking note of someone else tied to a chair.
“Psst.” Hopefully they were awake too, but when they didn’t respond, a heavy sigh left her lips.
