DESCRIPTION: lithe and toned, but it's not easy to tell through her uniform and bad posture. Her medium length raven black hair is always parted in a way to show her mother's earing on her left ear, signaling her areligiousosity. She has three nose ridges, dark freckles on her cheeks and above her nose and eyebags from stress and her struggles with her sleep cycle.
HISTORY: Born in a Bajoran Resettlement Camp in Federation space to Bajoran smuggler Bozaan Laska and AWOL Star Fleet engineer, Ltd Yamoto Tokimaru. She was left with her godparents and half-Cardasian half-brother after she was born as her parents went straight back to helping the Resistance on Bajor and could only visit when it was important for a mission. Ozu was 14 when Bajor was finally liberated. Her parents came back for only a year before they left again to join the Maquis. Ozu's childhood friend, Joen Telona also left with her parents as Ozu stayed behind to help in the commune. A year later, Joen went missing (as she was in Chakotay's crew when they were swept away to the Delta Quadrant), and 2 years after that, her mother was killed in the Cardasian purge of Maquis. And when she got the news about her mother, she left the commune and joined Star Fleet. She minored in Xeno-archeology and transporter operation in the Academy but mostly focused on the Diplomacy and Piloting related courses. Her first station was at Starbase 42, on the border of Gorn space, and then joined the Cerritos at the same time as Tendi.
PERSONALITY: depressed, stressed, caffeine addicted and almost zero self-esteem. Ozu at the core of her person is empathetic. She feels for people and it hurts her that there is so much suffering in the world and wants more than anything to help. She will sacrifice herself at the drop of a hat if she thought it would save a life. She also has no patience for bullies and abusers of power. An easy way for you to get on her shit list would to bad mouth the Maquis or her criminal father. She's snarky as a defense mechanism to feign indifference, as a lie to herself to keep herself from hurting herself from caring too much. Ozu loves her disfunctional squad of Delta Shifters will help them and support them in anyway possible. Even if it looks like she's upset.
