For some reason i feel like bringing a ripped lancer back into the dark world would just make 2 half sized lancers. Hes like an amoeba and can split or refuse when in danger.

Imagining that every once in a while Risk lets the soul into the birdcage and drags it around Hometown for enrichment. Imagining the feeling of helplessness as it watches them interact with their friends, who it hoped were its friends too, while it’s kept in the corner. Imagining Susie glancing at the soul, sometimes trying to talk to it, but if Risk finds out they’ll remind her that it’s just a glorified battery. Imagining the vent sequence in Chapter 4 being a moment of freedom and joy for the soul, only to be ruined when Risk throws that bottle at it.

Imagining the soul only being released into battle boxes to dodge darkners it never wanted to fight. Imagining the soul intentionally getting hit because maybe Werewire will take care of it. Maybe it will be able to look past the dark with Spamton. Maybe Tenna will give it a fancy outfit and make puns about it. But no, whenever there’s too much damage, it goes dark and then time rewinds, and that will happen again and again until Risk is satisfied with its performance and the darkner is injured or worse.
