A new job.
The next day, Kieran Harlow found himself looking for job openings around town. After a while, he managed to find an opening at the Local School. The head teacher, Miss Toriel, had asked to see him after the school day was up. As most of the children head home, the Human makes his way in. Stepping inside, he looks for the right room, which Toriel told him would be further in, on the left. He knocks on the door. A friendly voice calls out.
“Come in, dear!”
The human opens the door, stepping inside. Sat at her desk, the white fluffy goat lady waits for the Human to sit opposite her. Nearby, another Younger Human is sat in the corner, fidgeting quietly.
“Hello, Miss Toriel.” The Taller Human, Kieran, shakes the Goat monster’s hand, or, Paw, before sitting down Opposite her.
“oh, Just Toriel is fine, dear.” She responds. “So, is this your first time teaching?”
“Uhm, yeah, it is. I’ve been a volunteer before, though. so, I’ve learned quite a bit already. I’ve mainly been helping out in Arts and Crafts.” Kieran explains. “I think it’s cool to let kids use their imagination to make something they like, and share it with the world.”
“My, It does sound like you’re really passionate about the subject!” Toriel replies, Smiling. “I believe you’ll be an excellent new member of staff here at school! I’m excited to say that the job is yours, Kieran! I’ll have the unused classroom cleaned up for you by next week, you won’t have to overwork yourself, Alright, dear?”
“Thank you so much, Toriel! i Can’t wait to get started!” The two of them stand up, to shake hands again, before Kieran glances over at the kid. “Do they live with you?”
Toriel Nods. “Yes, This is Kris. He’s an older student here at school. Won’t you Say hello, my child?”
The kid raises a hand and gives a Slight wave. Kieran waves in Response. “It’s nice to meet you, Kris! I hope to see you Next week! There probably won’t be much going on, as I’ll need to go through Introductions. But I guess i’ll be one down already, huh? Anyways, Thanks again, Miss Toriel. this is a real honour.”
Toriel smiles warmly. “You are most Welcome, Dear. If you’d like to come visit us, feel free to come to our house at any time! It’s the northern-most point of town, okay?”
After they say their goodbyes, Kieran heads home as Toriel and Kris leave for theirs in a Red van. The taller Human enters his apartment, excited to start working at his new job at school. this is going to be great!
