I present to thee, the Immortal Trolls AU
A major change in the story/lore: No-one was separated and bergens were never a problem
While drawing them, I didnât really put much thought into how it would work as an AU, I just wanted to see if I could assign them sins/virtues but hereâs an idea (legit gets more detailed as I write it out and think of more things):
Viva and Poppy are not exactly royals but theyâre a type of angel that lays high on the ranking. Their father, an angel a rank above them, gave them jobs. Viva is in charge of making sure work gets done and no-one is forgotten while Poppyâs job is keep spirits high and spread positivity
The boys on the other hand are more like demons that have been matched to a sin instead of being physical representations of them
Branchâs upbringing was a little different but not much better. While his brothers never left, he still never received the proper love and attention he needed. Seeing others receive love, especially from family, makes him jealous and that often manifests into rage or hatred
Clayâs not exactly âlazyâ or âunmotivatedâ as Sloth is often portrayed as but he spends A LOT of time sitting in one place and naps often due to unintentional excessive magic usage. He has an entire room dedicated to books he reads and he likes to create thrones/chairs out of them
Angels and demons are not stuck in heaven and hell and earth is their middle ground. Itâs not too uncommon for them to run into each other from time to time. Bruce created a restaurant for his own gain but after he ran into Brandy on a beach, he decided that sharing wasnât that bad
Floyd doesnât like committing and reinvented the term âghostingâ. If find yourself lucky enough to be alive and alone in the morning, just know that your wallet took the hit for you
John Dory carries a misguided sense of pride that he managed to wrangle and raise his four little brothers, but it was hard for him to feel satisfied with who they are. All four of them rebelled and became someone he wasnât trying to create in his image. As the years went on and more of his little brothers became someone different, he slowly came to the realization that he couldnât mold them and now all he talks about is how happy he is to have them. His brothers tolerate him, even to this day, because his idea of an apology is to be better and forget it happened, even if his brothers hold a grudge against him for never outright apologizing and admitting to accepting them for who they are. They still have the lingering sense that JD isnât happy with them but believes he isnât getting anything different so he just wants to be in their good graces so they donât stab him in his sleep
OTHER NOTES:
-Magic is not inherited, it is taught in heaven. Anyone can use it because itâs really just for moving items around/carrying lots at once but lengthy uses will drain energy and make you sleepy. Viva taught Clay since demons have no way of learning in hell. Full white pupil means magic is in use
-Same tails, different meanings. A tail tip can solidify into a weapon if often used like one. A heart on the tail can symbolize a type of love/attraction behavioral pattern present in the demon (romantic/sexual/platonic). Branch is beginning to develop a heart on his tail because of Poppy
-No-one has scars except for Branch because the ear scar is a self-inflicted accident, which is just my headcanon-event of when he was little
-Wings are inherited but itâs a rare physical trait
-Angels have âmortalâ forms they wear on earth but itâs unknown if demons do the same because theyâre very stealthy and just never bother to try. You can spot a disguised angel by looking into their eyes very closely and seeing a white spot in the center (less obvious to mortals but still visible) so they never let anyone get too close
