The Stretch/Work Conspiracy

Surely you've all seen the much anticipated texting video. However, yet again our good, good boys have lied to us about something harmless and weird! Let's decide it, shall we?

In the new video we are greeted with this amazing conversation:

Which is featured with no header/contact name and has no other conversations before or after it! That's already strange and slightly suspicious, however we can't forget that we've seen part of this already before!

In PINOF 9 bloopers:

At the 1:51 mark we find out that these would be Dan's last words, and not only that but Phil has a weird reaction to it.

Phil: "What does that mean? Her pain places?"

If Phil received this text why was he so confused?

Why did one version have "stretch" and the other "work"? Was this really about a yoga instructor, or was Phil seeing someone for an injury from some sort of exertion?

Even more odd, they said these texts were from the beginning of the year, yet they did PINOF 9 in November. Was he texting the same thing to someone else?

We don't know the answers, you get to decide.

The Movie.

So today we got an ask from someone who wished to remain anonymous voicing this concern:

"So the infinity war ticket doesn't match up with the time of the instagram story. And Dan posted his instagram story two hours later saying he just finished infinity war. Explain please. I don't know if it's because they just wanted to get out of there before the fans somehow tracked them down through the ticket, but why did Dan post an instagram story six hours after Phil's movie ended. The only thing I can think of is that they're watching two different shows, but they said in their before Tour live show that they were going to watch it together? I'm confused please help Sincerely a girl who doesn't want to post this on blog directly in fear of judgement."

Now, I do have a theory for this! So let me attempt to assuage any fears or concerns any of you might have over this topic.

Firstly, I do absolutely believe that they would post after the time they went to avoid fan run-ins but I don't think that's all that is at play here. Let me provide the two instagram stories in question:

Now since I literally just took these shots I had to do a little bit of math to whittle down to the actual times. Since they're in the UK, they're 6 hours ahead of my time which means Phil posted his story around 8pm his time while Dan posted his story around 10pm. On first glance this does seem to be misleading as to when they went or if they went together. Personally, I believe they went together and they went at the time on the ticket, 4pm. But why did Dan post 2 hours after Phil? Because they were definitely busy doing something else. But furthermore, Phil didn't post his picture directly before going to see the film, he posted it after. The "Shook" you see at the top of the screen is actually Phil's reaction to having seen the film, not his anticipation of how the film would make him feel. See, he posted Tweet 30 minutes before he posted his insta story which corroborates the idea that his story was a reaction to the movie.

Dan, then, posted a story without any picture and instead as a white background with text at 10 pm probably because he was in bed already cuddling his husband. That story was his reaction to the film that he likely forgot to post earlier. Here's how I think it went:

They go see a 2~3 hour long earthshattering movie that apparently kills off all the best characters. Then, after sitting through the credits for the end scenes, the boys went out for a late dinner. On the way out Phil snaps his insta story of the ticket because when has he not been the guy who loves to keep fans updated?? Dan, still processing it and probably having that horrible dread one often experiences when finishing a favourite book in which characters you love die, has some cocktails and when he climbs into bed he realized he forgot to post a story reaction to the movie and quickly did so. Or, he let Phil do it for him due to the lack of typos Dan usually has on his posts even when he's sober.

tl;dr they saw the movie together, they are just celebrities who have to lie about when they go out so they can have a date in peace thank you for coming to my ted talk

So. People noticed Dan and Phil have the game "first dates" (which @doinganap made a quick post on; an anon brought it to their attention). Thoughts?

I personally am a huge fan of the “you guys are thinking this means they fuck, but here’s a wholesome explanation” deal. I actually just pulled it on one of my friends for something. However, I can’t think of jack shit for this one. (images from @doinganap minus the one from the liveshow) 

There’s really no way around this one. It does say daters can be “pretend or real”, But why would they buy that if they weren’t actually dating? Some very intimate questions that pertain only to lovers are included in the examples above. The only semi-logical explanation I can think of is that someone who thought they were dating gifted it to them. However, if they weren’t together, I would think they would have gotten rid of the game when they moved, unless they got it after the move. Unless they got the game ironically, it probably does a pretty good job of implying that they’re dating. 

Wow. Now I can’t get the image of them playing this game out of my head. I might have to put that in my writing prompts. Thanks for inquiring with us!

Sleepless Night with Dan AND Phil? 7/29/17

This theory is particularly demon phannie-esque, so I’ll be writing it under a cut. If you don’t want to see it, don’t read it. 

“I somehow didn't realise chocolate covered coffee beans contained.. coffee. This may be another sleepless night with Phil.”

This tweet, in my opinion, means more than you may think. I’ve had a hunch for a while now that something is going on. Now that we’ve seen Dan’s room, it’s all falling into place. With the centipede, Phil’s tiny room, and now this... Anything is possible. 

My theory stretches a bit farther than them sleeping in the same room. As a phandom, we’ve already decided that there’s a very good chance that they do. This is something a whole lot bigger than that. I’ve had an odd hunch lately that something is going to happen in the next month. 

We’ve got Dream Daddy, gaming channel livestreams, and That Week In March™ on the way. The entirety of 2017, especially these things, is a buildup. But as anyone who’s taken a basic language arts class knows, after the rising action comes the climax. 

What better climax than what’s probably the closest thing we’ll ever get to our mutual wildest dream: subtle confirmation. 

They know of our theories. It’s not like they’ve never been on Tumblr. They know we know they sleep in the same room, in the same bed. They may have even helped us figure it out. By now, they’re playing a game of cryptic chess with us all. They’re making multiple subtle moves until finally they all line up to close in for the kill. 

This is the kill. This random, seemingly meaningless tweet about chocolate covered coffee beans and a sleepless night. After all the jet lag, he films nothing. Yet when he eats a few beans and mysteriously tweets at 1:00 in the morning*, there seems to be a good chance that he may film a Sleepless Night with Phil video. The precise timing is almost suspicious. In my opinion, this could be the closest we’ll ever get to coming out. 

My theory is that, in a week or so, we won’t be getting a Sleepless Night with Phil video. We’ll be getting a Sleepless Night with Phil AND DAN video. 

*Also, another important detail is that he didn’t reply to anyone. Usually Phil replies to people when he tweets. Sure, it’s possible that he fell asleep soon after, but according to what he said, there’s little chance that happened anytime soon. In my opinion, the answer is a combination of two things. 1. He began filming shortly after he tweeted. 2. He didn’t want to raise suspicion or give away anything about the video or its existence. It’s probably supposed to be a bit of a surprise, and replying to people would likely give it away. 

The only way to really know the truth about any of these things is to wait. So, for the moment, this case is wide open.

Actually, You Know What? Case Reopened. 7.30.17

Due to additional evidence, we have come to the conclusion that we misunderstood what Phil was trying to tell us in the last video. Originally it came across as a bit of a slap in the face maybe a “listen here kiddos we have our own rooms.” But after some discussion and re-reviewing the evidence we have realized that Phil wasn’t telling us to back off he was just saying “simmer down kids don’t break the internet please” in his latest video.

Naturally, anticipation was high for this video. We thought in our demon phannie mindset that this would be a coming out of sorts. But we forgot that Phil Lester and Daniel Howell are and always will be sneakily subtle fellows. Phil made a tweet at 7pm my time, or 1am his time, that this was “another Sleepless Night With Phil night” (see picture below)

However, you can clearly see as he purposefully scrolls over to the download start time on Dream Daddy, he shows the time to be 8pm his time.

So what’s the truth? Phil clearly began to film this video well before 1am and then he tweeted that he would be filming one and lied about the times in the footage. He did so with such carelessness that it’s as though he hoped we would catch it. He clearly still wanted us to all chill out, so that’s what we should do. But he also left little hints for us.

For all we know he was sound asleep by 4am in his and Dan’s shared moon room. Or maybe all of us are just a little too demon-minded for our own good.

Let’s put perspective on the latest video: During the past months, we were presented with changes and plenty of new information. But even through all of this there were calmer moments. Whenever it got to be “too much” or too much speculation, they would take a little step back to put the phandom on hold for a bit and let us calm down. And I guess that was just another one of these, but a bigger step back. Last week was too much, and we need to calm down a bit. It doesn’t mean everything is cancelled, it’s just “calm down, we know you can do it”. And if they want us to calm down a bit, we will.

What’s Going on in August? 7/30/17

Got another demon theory™ coming at you under the cut. 

So Dan and Phil are skipping both Summer In The City and a chance for Japhan 2.0. Both because they’re “busy”. This is extremely suspicious. 

Summer In The City is literally right in London. And they’re up for an award for DAPGO. Why would they skip it unless they’re doing something extremely important or going somewhere else? Also, Japhan 2.0 is their dream. They’d never pass it up unless there’s a very good reason. So what could this reason be? 

There are multiple things that this could be the cause of this. 

1. They’re moving again.  There have been many plausible theories lately that they’re moving yet again. This one is my personal favorite theory. They may be moving into their “forever home” this month. We’ve witnessed the same suspicious activity that they showed when they moved in April. Liveshows in bedrooms, things disappearing... It could be happening yet again. The question is, why would they move if they planned to move again soon after? The answer is simple. Their old lease ran out in May. They needed to be out of there by May or else they’d be there for another year. Maybe they just needed somewhere to go temporarily until they found their “forever home”. Yet another reason why That Week In March™ may be asked about this month. This is probably when they were hoping to find the right house, and with the timing, it’s very likely that the aforementioned week has something to do with them moving from the old flat. Of course, you may be asking how they could be moving now if they had a year long lease. Every lease is different. It could be a year, but it could also be 3 months (which just expired) or 6 months (which is coming up in October). Anything could happen. 

2. They could be getting married. Yeah, it’s a stretch. But it would keep them busy! 

3. They’re traveling.  Could be a honeymoon. Wink wonk. But maybe they are going somewhere. Plus, Phil’s family is coming at some point soon, which may have kept them busy during one of the two commitments. 

4. It could be something completely non-phan and non-important life event related that they’ve simply chosen not to tell us about. And hey, that’s okay too!

If you can’t already tell by the length, I’ve chosen to believe #1. You can make your own choice. And since the list is so long, I’ll leave it here and say this case is wide open.
