day 13 - nightmares
another bad day today but i gained some function in the evening so im hoping it isn't too bad
horror and dust both had nightmares (dust's sleep muttering probably contributed to horror's nightmare) so they went to go sleep in nightmare's bed for protection (comfort). killer is just always there
apologies for the super low effort one yesterday im just in the midst of another depressive phase rn. genuinely enjoying doing this so i might continue even after January ends who knows i might actually gain some hand eye coordination from drawing so much

The bad sanses castle is just a nap fest. They do missions at all times so there’s always someone asleep. Everyone except error, cross and nightmare just completely disregard the fact that they have their own bedrooms. Day or night as soon as one of these guys gain the ability to sleep they just knock out. Doesn’t even matter where. You gotta watch where you’re walking cause they’re not opposed to just curling up on the floor. Somehow they’re still all sleep deprived. If they’re getting too much for nightmare he will just use his magic to make them all sleep so he can get some peace. They have the softest blankets just in cupboards everywhere. Nightmare put couches all over just to try and reduce how often they sleep on the floor only to find dust asleep leant against the couch instead. The only time there isn’t anyone napping is when it’s dinner time and that’s just beca nightmare needs to see everyone eating at least once per day. Horror, demon and error definitely like to crawl into tight spaces to nap. They like to feel hidden. Killer doesn’t show any warning signs that he’s ready for a nap, he’ll just be hyper or deranged one second and curled up the next. They sleep on each other platonically, it’s a way for them to feel more secure. Nightmare’s tentacles are good to cling to. Sci rarely leaves his lab and usually falls asleep while working on a project or watching anime. Dust mumbles in his sleep and killer has a tendency to wander. Nightmare usually only naps when someone else falls asleep on him. Nightmare probably wakes up really early in the mornings like even before cross. He probably wakes killer up too even if accidentally.
If they were human
Dust would:
-have really long dyed purple hair
-have lots of piercings
-constantly be coughing (heavy smoker)
-probably stink unless someone forced him to shower
-usually have the whites of his eyes be red
Killer would:
- be covered in temporary tattoos (can’t commit to any permanently)
-constantly be changing his hair (usually into crazy styles)
-wear makeup
Horror would:
-have his hair in Viking braids (he would probably have really bad hair when he first comes out of his au but it’ll get better as he starts eating again)
-probably try to cover his empty eye socket
-have sweaty hands 24/7
Cross would:
-keep his hair super short at first but slowly he would stop cutting it all off and let it grow a little bit (still keeping it at a practical length)
-probably get a tattoo
-be the most muscular in the group
Nightmare would:
-either have his long hair constantly dyed or never dye it ever
-be covered in scars that he certainly has as a monster but they’re covered by his goop
- wear an eyepatch
-paint his nails
Error would:
-keep his hair long and messy
-paint his nails but never keep on top of it leaving himself to constantly have cracked nail polish
-wear headphones 24/7
Demon would:
-keep his hair shorter than anyone else because it bothers him
-have a bunch of fake piercings
-have some sort of custom pacemaker
-carry an inhaler
-sew colourful string into his skin to make patterns when bored
Sci would (in my au he’s in the bad sanses too):
-have his hair short and practical
-burn scars from the destruction of his timeline
-be even more of a germaphobe than usual
I think they would all probably get some sort of small tattoo as like a loyalty pledge or something. Maybe a moon or something

story
the story is basically that after being freed from the underground sans and papyrus split off from everyone and sans ends up stealing a car for them. they go on this long road trip and never really stay anywhere more than a day or two since theyre surviving off of crime. well after a few too many bad puns papyrus storms offan in that time sans finds a strange baby cat monster that he named demitrius and adopted. at first papyrus was not happy about this but eventually he warmed up to having the little guy around and dedicates himself to being the best uncle ever. he constantly scolds sans whenever he gives him junk food or anything. sans and papyrus bicker constantly but the little guy finds it hilarios. papyrus is just glad sans has finally put some commitment into something other than substances.
past
once underground the monsters realised there werent enough supplies to go around and they turned on each other creating the harsh environment. sans was made accidentally in gaster's attempt at making an artificial human soul. he wasn't meant to be fully alive whichis why hes so weak. after the chara and asriel incident toriel left and asgore gave up and decided to just embrace the chaos instead. years later and gaster is realising sans isn't going to get any stronger so he makes papyrus to protect him once he’s grown up. everything is reasonably relaxed especially for a fell world and when sans is a teenager he starts working at the lab with gaster where he eventually meets alphys who soon becomes his friend and eventually start dating. things are fine, sans gets really sick at one point but he recovers and continues his playing card collection. sans is brilliant at science and is on track to become the next royal scientist after gaster. then the incident happens and gaster falls in the core while protecting sans from debris when an experiment explodes. the old lab has to be sealed off due to the radiation from the experiment and thats when the true lab is built. sans and alphys move gaster's work to the true lab and try to continue their research but sans struggles to balance his grief, his research, his relationship with alphys and taking care of papyrus who at the time was still a small child. in the midst of all his stress alphys suggests he just abandon papyrus and focus on his research leading to sans snapping at her, quitting his work at the lab all together and ending their relationship. sans struggles to hold a job while taking care of papyrus and ends up selling his collections. eventually they get evicted because sans cant keep up with the rent leading to him and papyrus living in a shed just outside the capital. to keep papyrus fed sans doesn't eat much and gets involved with one of the many gangs in the city doing favours and drug running to get the money for food and clothesand stuff, leading to him eventually getting coerced into trying meth which he gets addicted to. on one of the days where sans isn't there to watch papyrus ends up getting into a fight (up until this point he’s basically had the same personality as classic paps would have as a kid) which is how his skull gets cracked. the injury leaves him with amnesia and personality changes, he becomes more short tempered and rude. sans finds out and goes to beat them up but the damage is already done. papyrus starts to resent sans as he grows up into a teenager and starts to understand that sans is always out because he’s doing favours, running drugs or just lost because of the meth which also leads to him getting sicker and weaker. this is where their relationship gets tense. after a favour gone wrong sans ends up shooting someonein the same gang as him. in his immediate panic after he bumps into asgore who still remembers him after all these years. seeing the state he’s in he takes him and papyrus under his protection, helping them move to snowdin far from the gang's territory. while away from the gang sans manages to quit his meth habit and get a sentry job that he works to pay for his new drinking habit while the money he earns as the royal judge ends up going into everything else (everyone thinks the sentry job is his real job and since he drinks so much nobody questions where he is whenever he reports to asgore. somewhere in this time papyrus meets undyne and joins the royal guard, quickly rising in the ranks due to his ruthlessness and strength. sans struggles with anxiety constantly worrying that papyrus is going to get hurt, this leads to a big argument where papyrus comes to the realisation that sans always cared about him. they start slowly repairing their relationship. eventually frisk falls down and does a pacifist run.
