for jas x jake… anything related to jealousy. could be from jas or from jake! (i’m a slut for these two okay)
My darling, Elle, thank you for participating in blurb night. I, too, am a slut for Jas and Jake, but it turns out I'm not great at writing jealousy. I hope you enjoy this, regardless.
jealousy, jealousy
SUMMARY: Jake meets the green-eyed monster when some guy hits on Jas.
WARNINGS: Alcohol consumption, one mention of oral (m receiving)
WORD COUNT: 0.6k
It started with an old-fashioned.
Jas walked into the bar, making everyone turn their head to look. How could they not?
She’d gone straight to the bar to order a drink, and Jake handed his cue stick off to Coyote. He’d taken all but one step away from the pool table when some dark-haired guy sauntered up to Jas at the bar.
Jas had smiled, laughed, leaned in closer, and it really shouldn’t be a big deal. Jas had chemistry with everyone, but it was the drink Penny placed on the bar in front of her that really threw him.
An old-fashioned.
Jas never paid for her own old-fashioned.
Jake snatched the cue stick back from Coyote and lined up a shot, making a point of ignoring the shared glances between the rest of the squad.
It got worse as the night progressed. The guy kept buying drinks for Jas, and Bob refused to answer when Jake tried to pry him for information after he returned from the bar with a refill of peanuts.
“Don’t crush your bottle,” Phoenix said when he joined her, Coyote and Bob after he lost a round of pool to Rooster. “And don’t burn a hole in the back of Jas’ head. I like her more than I like you.”
He looked across the table at Phoenix on the other side of the booth and then at his white knuckles gripping the beer in his hand. “You’re funny,” he said, loosening his hold on the bottle.
“Wasn’t trying to be,” she muttered, taking a sip from her own beer.
His eyes shifted back to the bar. Jas didn’t appear the least bit uncomfortable when the guy’s lips came dangerously close to her ear.
Jake pushed his half-empty bottle towards the center of the table. “I’m getting another,” he announced, motioning for Coyote to get out of the booth to let him out.
“Hangman,” he warned.
“Javy,” he drawled, his eyes boring into those of his best friend. “Get out.”
Coyote sighed, slipping out of the booth to let him exit. He didn’t comment on the fact that Jake hadn’t finished his current drink. “Don’t do anything stupid,” he said, knowing it was a futile attempt where Jas was involved.
Jake rolled his eyes. He headed for the bar, coming up beside Jas, but he didn’t acknowledge her.
“Seresin,” she greeted. In his periphery, he saw the guy’s hand on her bare thigh and Jake wanted to throttle him.
“Doc,” he said. “Penny, dear, can I get a whiskey? Neat.”
He turned to Jas, whose brow raised slightly in a surprised expression. He looked at the guy’s dark hair and brown eyes, and wondered what made Jas let him touch her like that.
“I thought I told you not to call me that.”
Jake smirked, leaning down so his face was level with hers. He stared directly into her sharp blue eyes that looked like the stormy sea in this light. “You didn’t seem to mind when you were under me this morning.”
Jas narrowed her eyes.
The nameless guy removed his hand, standing from his seat and excused himself. Jake’s mouth turned upward. Success.
Jas rose from her seat, standing chest to chest with Jake. “I don’t recall you calling me Doc,” she said, her voice dropping low so only he could hear, “when I sucked you off this morning.”
The confident smile fell from his face as Penny placed a whiskey glass in front of him.
Jas tapped his cheek. “See you around, Seresin,” she whispered with a crooked grin and wandered off to the bathroom, leaving Jake to try to hide his growing hard on.

first off, congrats on 450 and i cant wait for you to hit your next one! for a lil celebration, maybe you could do a themed ask night or a little headcanon/blurb night depending on how comfortable you are with that!
Ok I actually really love the idea of a headccanon/blurb night! Unless anybody really disagrees with it I think that’s what I’m going to do! Thanks for the suggestion! (also now I’m really impatient to reach 500 even though it will probably take weeks because I’m excited about this)
hi helena!! for your blurb night, you already know i’m a huge bob x abby enthusiast. however, i’m also an angst lover so as much as this pains me, would you do a blurb about bob and abby’s first fight or argument as a couple?? what would they fight about and how would the issue be resolved??
Elle, I love you, but why on earth would you force me to make my babies suffer? They're perfect and they deserve the world, but alas, suffer they must. Enjoy!
this love (is worth the fight)
SUMMARY: Bob and Abby have their first fight as a couple.
WARNINGS: Angst, miscommunication-ish
WORD COUNT: ~0.8k (i blacked out)
Bob was quiet on the drive home, tension rolling off him in waves, and Abby didn’t know what was going on.
Everything was fine when they left earlier that evening and when they’d walked into the Hard Deck for drinks with Kennedy and Rooster, and Phoenix, who was in town on leave.
At some point, Bob’s demeanor changed. He grew quiet, distant even. He didn’t react when she put her hand high on his thigh while they sat in the booth, and he removed his arm from around her shoulder.
Something happened, but Abby was at a loss as to what it could be.
Bob parked in the usual spot in front of Abby’s apartment complex. He went around and opened her door for her, and they even had their fingers intertwined as they walked up the stairs and into her apartment.
Once inside, Bob let go of her hand and headed straight for the kitchen. Abby slipped off her boots and pattered in after him.
“You want coffee?” He asked, already prepping the pot.
“Yes,” she said and leaned against the counter. She watched him work. His hands knowing the location of everything in her kitchen, the way he moved around the space with ease and familiarity.
He turned the coffee machine on, and they listened to it splutter to life.
“Bob,” Abby said and approached him. She placed a hand on his arm, and though he didn’t flinch, his muscles tensed at her touch. “What’s going on?”
His clear blue eyes finally looked at her for the first time since they left the bar, and she could tell something was bothering him.
“Nothing,” he dismissed, stepping back from her and leaned against the countertop.
Abby stared at him. The arms crossed over his chest, his shoulders filled with tension and pulled up to his ears, the cute half-smile he always wore around her gone, and his eyes avoiding hers at all costs.
“I don’t appreciate you lying to me.” Her tone was harsh, accusatory, and unlike any way she’d spoken to him before.
“I’m not,” he argued, but Abby knew him. She knew that the corner of his mouth twitched downward when he wasn’t telling the truth or if something was bothering him. She knew every part of him, even the things he kept from himself.
“Okay,” she said, defeated, and retreated to the opposite counter, mirroring his stance. She bit the inside of her cheek, pushing down her growing annoyance.
The only sound that filled her kitchen was the coffee pot’s slow dripping as it finishing brewing.
Bob drew in a deep breath, shifting his weight from one foot to the other before looking up to meet Abby’s eyes. There was a different type of vulnerability there that she didn’t immediately recognize. Something foreign and terrified in those blue eyes she loved so much.
“I heard you,” he said. Abby opened her mouth to ask what he meant, but Bob held his palm up, stopping her. “Talking to that pilot asking about me.”
Abby’s brows knitted together in a moment of confusion. “With Checkmate?” Bob looked unsure, but nodded anyway. “He asked who you were, so I told him.”
“No,” he said, voice firmer. Angrier. “You said that’s just Bob, as if I was just some guy you just met.”
Abby thought back to the conversation. Checkmate was part of the current Top Gun class, and he’d come over to her while she was getting refills at the bar. He’d asked some questions about the class schedule and then asked about the people she was with, recognizing only Rooster.
The dent between her brows deepened. “And that’s all you heard?” Bob hummed in agreement. “Then you missed the part where I told him you were the top wizzo in your Top Gun class, that you’re my boyfriend, and how proud of you I am.”
Bob’s eyes widened and his jaw went slack. “I–”
“I shouldn’t have said what I did because there’s nothing just about you or our relationship.”
He opened his mouth to say something, but Abby continued pushing off the counter and walked up to him. “But don’t ice me out because you heard a fraction of a conversation. We’re adults and we talk about what's bothering us. You got that?”
He uncrossed his arms and tentatively reached for her. “Yes, ma’am,” he whispered and squeezed her hips. “I’m sorry.”
Abby stood on her tiptoes, placing a hand on the back of his neck, and pulled him down to her. “It’s okay. I’m sorry too,” she whispered against his lips and pecked them. “Now, pour me some coffee.”
i know you haven’t written much for phoenix x archers so i’d love a little blurb on how they first met!
Elle, my love! Thank you for participating in my birthday blurb night, and for requesting these two cuties' first meeting.
the night we met
SUMMARY: Cecily Archer doesn't believe in love at first sight.
WARNINGS: Alcohol consumption/mention
WORD COUNT: 0.6k
“Two beers, please,” Cecily said, holding up two fingers for good measure in case the bartender couldn’t hear her over the music.
The dark-haired woman nodded with a warm smile and bent down to grab bottles from the fridge under the bar top. “Let me guess,” she said when she stood upright again. “TOPGUN?”
Cecily cocked her head to the side with a wry smile. “How’d you know?”
The bartender smiled and put the beers down. She tossed her head towards something behind her, and when she looked over her shoulder, Cecily’s eyes landed on the pool table. Her backseater, Beacon, was already greeting a group of other aviators.
“They’ve been arriving all night,” the bartender explained, pulling Cecily’s attention back and popping the caps off the bottles. “I made a qualified guess.”
Cecily handed over her card to open a tab. “I’m guessing it’s not your first class.”
She shook her head, moving towards the register. “And it won’t be my last,” she replied, tapping away on the screen. “You got a callsign like the rest of them?”
“Arrow.” The bartender furrowed her brows. “Last name is Archer,” she explained, pointing to the name tag on her chest.
“Ah, makes sense,” she said with a nod, coming back to Cecily with her card.
A patron grabbed the bartender’s attention, wanting to be served. She excused herself, and Cecily grabbed the beer bottles off the counter. She turned to move away from the bar, only to almost crash into a fellow servicewoman.
“I’m sorry,” Cecily exclaimed, checking if she’d gotten beer on herself or the other woman’s uniform.
She looked up and met a pair of dark brown intelligent eyes, and a mouth turned upward in a soft amused smile. Cecily’s breath caught in her throat. The woman was stunning, even in the unflattering service khakis and her dark hair pulled back in the standard tight bun.
“It’s alright,” she replied, putting a hand on Cecily’s upper arm to assure her. “One of those for me?”
“Huh?” Cecily looked down at the beers in her hands and then back up at the woman. “Technically for my backseater, but you can have it.”
“I’m joking,” she said, a warm chuckle passing her beautifully plump lips. “You bought it for your friend.”
Cecily had never subscribed to the idea of love at first sight, but this woman was making her question that belief before even learning her name. Maybe it was attraction at first sight instead. She couldn’t tell when her brain was trying to come up with an answer that didn’t make her seem desperate or, worse yet, a fool.
Cecily shook her head briefly, trying to clear her head and pick her jaw off the floor before turning her attention to the woman once again.
“He won’t mind,” she insisted, offering her a bottle. “As long as you cover the next round.”
She was awarded with a brilliant, full smile and her heart beat a little faster.
The woman accepted the beer and clinked the bottle against Cecily’s. “Deal,” she hummed. “I’m Natasha Trace. Phoenix.”
They started towards the pool table in step with each other. “That’s a cool callsign,” she mused and tried not to blush when their hands brushed against each other. “Cecily Archer. Arrow.”
Natasha hummed. “Cool callsign.”
Cecily almost melted into a puddle on the floor when Natasha winked at her and took a sip of her beer. So much so that she didn’t even register that Beacon asked where the hell his beer was because she was too busy cursing love (or lust) at first sight for being real.
also just hints about any wips you’re working on that you’re excited to share! 🤭🤭
I’m excited to share all my WIPs, so here’s a short description of all my upcoming Top Gun works, including a little Next Gen thing. These are all over the place timeline-wise, and there are so so so many Jake and Jas ones…
JAKE + JAS
Meet the Parents (Jake’s Version)
✩ Jake takes Jas to Texas to visit the Seresin family ranch and his parents for the first time. Jas expects narrow-minded and very conservative people, but Lori and Joseph are total sweethearts.
Meet the Parents (Jasmine’s Version)
✩ Jake meets Jas’ moms for the first time, and it doesn’t go well. Sharon is skeptical of Jake and makes her feelings known, so Jas has to stand up for him and their relationship. He reveals to Jas’ other mom and older sister that he plans to propose.
Jake realizing he’s in love
✩ Standing in a hospital waiting room, watching Jas storm off to talk to a doctor, Jake realizes he might be in love with her and that their relationship is more than just sex.
Talking Body
✩ Jas and Jake have sex for the first time in her office on base. It’s the release of all the tension that’s been building for weeks while they’ve tried to keep the upper hand in their flirtation-ship.
Post Office Sex
✩ Jake leaves Jas’ office in a daze and has to face his fellow aviators, who seem oblivious to what just happened. Bob (Jas’ bestie besides @joaquinwhorres’ Caro) is immediately suspicious but doesn’t say a word.
Look at You Defending Your Woman
✩ Prompt request featuring Jake punching Jas’ douchy ex, who makes sexist and queerphobic comments about her while she’s not there. Not my favorite trope, but I like writing it.
Adoption
✩ Jake brings up the possibility of adopting while he and Jas are basking in the afterglow.
Admitting Feelings™
✩ After the mission, Jas texts Jake to meet her at the Hard Deck, and Jas finally admits that their thing is more than just sex (posting this next week!)
Bonus: Next Gen
✩ The kids of our favorite characters in the Motion Sickness Universe are up to their own schemes. They’re dealing with first crushes, high school drama, and trying to grow up, featuring OCs by me and @joaquinwhorres: Dalia Garcia-Alvarez, Jamie Lane-Seresin, David Floyd, and Marcus Fitch. Possibly a few others, too!
BOB + ABBY
Morning Glory
✩ Abby wakes up with Bob, who’s on leave, beside her and reflects that she’s in love with him despite only having been together a few weeks. It’s also smutty. Bob fucks, after all.
Home From the Bar
✩ Abby and Bob talk about the future on the way home from the Hard Deck.
ok i rlly hope i’m not being a bother, but i thought of another question for both couples…
who’s the better cook between the two??
You are not bothering me at all! I’m trying to stay awake, so I can sleep through the night, and I asked for questions. You’re good!
Jake is the better cook, no question. Jas is one of those people who is good at their job but nothing else, so Jake cooks. His mom taught him, and he will eventually pass that skill and those recipes on to his daughter.
It’s pretty even for Abby and Bob, but I think Bob enjoys it more. I just wrote a blurb for them where Abby’s sick, and she comes home to Bob heating soup on the stove. Although it’s not stated in the blurb, he made it from scratch!
