Dendrobates Auratus linocut blockprint. Reblogs always appreciated.
This is the green and black poison dart frog (Dendrobates auratus). His measurements are:
1.9 cm - 2.5cm (depending on sex mostly)
This small fellow is as the name indicates a poisonous one. But when their diet changes like when in captivity, they lose their poison. This has led people to believe that their diet in the wild is what gives them their poisonous abilities.
He is featured in the animal deck game Náttúruval that you should check out

Green and Black Poison Dart Frog
Hellos and welcome to “Frog Spotting”! My name is Pteryx and I’ll be your host for this evening. Today we have a picture of the Rare and Elusive Dendrobates Auratus! These green and blue dart frogs are very shy and prefer to hide under bark and fallen leaf litter most of the day, but will occasionally come out to hunt fruit flies and randomly climb things. It’s always very exciting. This has been your frog update for the day! Thank you for coming.
