I love how Heard's lawyer was like "There's no way for you to prove that he never hit her." Like what do you want???? 24/7 cameras???? A live feed of his life? He doesn't have to prove he didn't you have to prove he did. That's how innocent til proven guilty works!!!!!

Okay so while Johnny Depp won the trial, Amber Heard technically lost, but I just got a Twitter notif, and it was a post from a woman who claims she's studying domestic abuse and provides a lot of evidence on how Amber Heard actually was abused and Johnny Depp wasn't yet people believe Johnny Depp because he was like, Jack Sparrow or something. I don't know what to believe anymore. I feel like this is going to destroy the future trust of people who know others who have or will be abused and there is nothing we can do about it

I feel that with the new information released on the Heard and Depp situation. I should admit something. I supported Depp throughout the case and mocked Heard with my friends. I was an ignorant child who only saw the social media coverage and opinions and never went to do my own research into proper evidence to come to my own conclusions. I picked the side of an actor I grew up with over someone who had evidence. My own willful ignorance has caused me to take on misogynistic views that I did not grow up with and due to this situation I think I will learn from my mistakes and if big news comes up on social media I will do research before jumping on an uninformed opinion.

Why was the Depp Trial Livestreamed?

The trial was held in Virginia, where cameras are allowed under approval of a judge.

Judge Azcarate was ultimately the one to decide the trial would be livestreamed. Due to already having received numerous media requests, Judge Azcarate made the decision believing that livestreaming would prevent too many reporters (and the public) from crowding the courthouse and creating hazardous conditions.

Some sources do say that Depp's lawyers did initially request cameras, with Ben Chew arguing since Heard's claims about Depp were made so publicly, the Virginia trial should also be as public as possible, while Heard's lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft, fought to keep them out.

However, an order dated Feb 25, 2022, states that the motion to bring in cameras was brought in by the court and ruled in favor by the judge after considering each party's position on the matter.

I haven't been following the depp heard trial (bcs I have better things to do with my time) so I know basically nothing about it besides the absolute basics.

However one thing I have seen is the sheer glee some people have been exhibiting over shitting on Heard. Which, yeah, if she is guilty ( again I dont know if she is or not and it's kinda besides the point I'm trying to make) can be understood to a certain level.

Yes the thing she is being accused of are disgusting and unforgivable.

But the way certain people have been behaving, going on rants about Heard's appearance (her hair, her clothes, her make up) (of all things), the way she smiles, the way she cries. Criticising every single thing she is doing or has done in the past and doing so with joyful enthusiasm.

And on the other side of this, those same people are praising Depp over his appearance, his smiles, his jokes, making him out to be this perfect angel and refusing to admit that he can and absolutely has made mistakes.

It really tells a lot and it leaves me wondering:

Are these people truly, justifiably, horrified and appalled by her alleged actions or are they just happy to shit on a woman, saying disgusting things about her without having to worry about the reaction of the general public?
